Go Wild!: 101 Things to Do Outdoors Before You Grow Up Paperback – May 1, 2009

This is a fantastic book for kids. Filled with tons of ideas. Lots of great photos and the book is organized very well. Gave it to a friends son and he was looking at it for hours. Wish I had this when I was a kid.

This is an interesting book and should definitely help those who are trying to get children more interested in the outdoors. It has a lot of activities for families (I didn't count to see if there are actually 101, and the book isn't structured as a numbered list) to build interest in camping and enjoying the outdoors.

Love this book! I work at a Forrest preschool (completely outdoor school, in the woods) and this is a great resource. My son (7) loves going through it and picking activities to do together...hut building, cooking over an open fire. Such a lovely book.

Great ideas!

It's an excellent book for my kids ages 10, 8, 6. Most of the projects are appropriate for their ages. Some may be a little too advanced but that just means that they will be able to use the book longer. The pictures of step by step instructions are really helpful. Real kids (not posed models) doing real projects.

I rarely love kids books, but this one is a knock-out. Wish I'd had this one as a kid. My niece loves working on these projects with me.This is hands-down the most visually delicious, absorbing book on getting kids oriented to outdoor skills. Stellar photos of kids in the UK having a BLAST! ... and all sorts of great projects for them to take up, from "stone age tools," to extracting condensed water from plants, to building fires (with supervision), and on and on.The narrative is a little odd, and I hope the author revises the text. It's clearly a genius kids' book, but the author has chosen to write it more like a teacher's or parent's activity book. "Sylvia and Jenny really enjoyed doing x." I don't feel that's much of a limitation, as the whole point is to stay involved as an adult in the child's progress -- poring over the pages WITH your child to plan these things -- providing the encouragement, the familiarity, and the continuity. In most cases, a child is likely to lose interest in the text in any event before she loses interest in the fantastic pictures and adventures these kids are having as they acquire new skills in "going wild."

This is a very good book for a person who has kids interested in the outdoors. Easy to read with good pictures. Subjects like how to build a shelter, how to clean water and how to cook over a fire. This book was at Waterstones for £16.99. I bought this book second hand for .80p and its as good as new. I would recommend it to others.

Absolutely fantastic book. My nine year old received it along with the 'Real Adventure Den Kit' and spent the whole weekend playing Bear Grylls. Loads of great ideas which she completed all by herself and cant wait to do more. Some ideas are more extreme but with parental support and guidance we hope to complete most of the 101 things!! (Eventually!!)

It was probably my fault that I didn't notice this book was for those with older children. I have set it aside for when my children are older and purchased Nature's Playground (by the same author) and I am very happy with it.

We realised the kids were spending far too much time inside and we wanted some help with ideas for lots of outdoor fun as a family. This book is just what we needed and we are looking forward to trying the ideas out! Would definitely recommend it.

My son loves this book, and is working his way down the list of 101 things to do outdoors - great present for a young lad, especially one that's into Bear Grills!
