So as someone who tries to eat low carb, I know how good sardines are for our bodies, mind, mood, blood sugar etc. I'm a foodie, I like all fish and seafood, but ever the sardine hunt continued because I just didn't like anything I tasted. Luckily my cat loves sardines and they don't go to waste! I only try sardines in olive oil. The other problem is I do not like most olive oils. I read the reviews on these and decided to take a chance. Both myself and my cat love them! The oil is mild and delicious and really let's the flavor of the fish through. These are big fillets, maybe 4ish to a can. Lots of oil. Has all the good stuff - bones, skin, meat and other unidentifiable things :) that make them so nutrient dense and healthy but does not hit you over the head with a strong, fishy smell or taste. There's just enough. It's a perfectly balanced, blended taste of a delicate oil and fish. These for me are it. My search has ended! My next experiment will be to air fry them!

These are really good sardines. Good sized, not too big, not too small and they have the skin and bones, which are the best parts. DON'T buy sardines that are boneless/skinless or ones packed in water. You WANT sardines with both skin & bones, and packed in extra virgin olive oil. PERIOD. These are full of flavor and meaty, not mushy. Portuguese sardines are some of the best in the world, and I really enjoyed these and look forward to having them again and again. Put them on a piece of sourdough bread with some Parmesan cheese and freshly chopped garlic. Total heaven. Highly recommended to sardine lovers.

There were 3 sardines floating around in a whole lot of olive oil. I’m not sure if this was the norm before global inflation, but that’s quite stingy of them. The flavor was quite milder than I had expected. The little bones and skin intact also had to the flavor.

Oh my goodness! Super yummy. I wasn’t even sure I’d like eating sardines. But had this on an open faced sandwich of toasted bread rubbed w garlic, spread w mayo, sliced summer tomatoes, thin sliced red onion and basil with a generous squeeze of lemon juice. 😋. So wonderful. There were two very large pieces of fish that fed my husband and me for dinner. Nice texture, lightly smoked. Perfection.

These are great sardines, with a delicious flavor, not fishy. However, they are listed as likely to have a smoked flavor. I didn't pick up a smoke flavor. The sardines are pretty large; I only got two sardines in a can. If you don't like scales or bones, these aren't for you, but I found my new daily driver. I do think they're an excellent value for the money.

don’t remember sardines tasting so good, ended up eating whole can by myself in one sitting..less the tiny 5 pieces i gave to cats after literally being surrounded after i sat down to eat!! given how crazy they all went, even the almost tamed feral cat we took in that never begs, going to have to say these sardines are super fresh which i gathered when i saw the 2024 expiration date.. Been awhile since i have eaten sardines, actually only bought them for a natural iron source but, now will be buying them to eat regularly with keto crackers! wish they made in water with no salt ones for the cats too.. I was worried that these being lightly smoked would be yuck to me so i bought another brand that is suppose to be as good as this one (season’s brand) but, haven’t tried them for these here ones are just perfectly lightly smoked and you can’t taste the nasty smoke aftertaste a lot of smoked foods have.. size of sardines are great, bones basically melt in your mouth and the oil tastes delicious as well..

I love the sardines in olive oil with zesty Lisbon lemon. However, I hate having to employ a can opener each time because the pull tab breaks off as soon as it's raised up- every time! I've previously had many of their sardines in pure olive oil and those containers have a much more substantial pull tab.

For the amount of money that the sardines cost, the taste was absolutely wonderful. If you eat your sardines by appearance, only they are lacking in that department i encountered a few scales per can however for the money the taste is fantastic. They are fresh and firm. The appearance is lacking because it appears to have a little bit of water with the olive oil, but to me that does not matter they taste great. I have no indigestion issues well worth the money.
