Work great, the best model
It works great, but... For background, this is the fourth belt I purchased, the third in this style, and the second in this model. After using it for years, I discovered that this model works best for me. I am a little bit overweight, and I need to tighten it a lot. It still gets a little itchy after a day of use. I found out that it seems to lose a little bit of elasticity after hand wash. All those are kind of normal, however, the only thing I would like to improve is the sides. In my older model, after using it for a year the sides started to bend. But overall I must say this works really well for me and hopefully, I'll be able to get the surgery soon.

Comfortable
Comfortable, does the job. Not as wide as some which makes it easier to wear and not be as noticable

Not technically for umbilical hernias, but...
So, straight out of the box, the first thing to record is that the instructions make no mention of its suitability to control umbilical hernias - meaning of course that it is NOT designed to be a solution for them. Thus, 'Buyer beware' - this is not a miracle 'cure' for umbilical hernias, and technically speaking, it's not even designed with the intent to provide relief from one. This said and being one who bought the product on the basis of the description, I offer this as a glimmer of comfort for those looking for something that would at least defer the inevitable operation/procedure to correct the hernia - inevitable because once over the age of fifty or so, your body simply isn't going to repair itself. The pad has a raised dimple which is obviously made to be placed over the belly button. It's not a firm 'dimple' but it does maintain shape when applied. The band itself is quite strong but not rigid enough to make it hard to breathe through your stomach - this is a good thing! The pad is fixed to the band simply by Velcro so can be adjusted easily to suit. The band does take quite a bit of strength to wrap securely around the belly and you are therefore likely to find yourself adjusting it and fiddling around to get it just right.Once secured, the band is comfortable to the skin (any scratching comes from the Velcro that is exposed and not mated to the band.) It also doesn't show up under clothing.DOES IT WORK? Well, to a degree, yes. I have only a small umbilical hernia (less than 2cm) that does go back when gently pressed, so in my case the pressure from the pad does the job for me. In my job I spend several hours walking around a store and (typically) moving and lifting boxes of wine. After six hours today, the band was still comfortable, and the hernia remained under control - although I cannot stress the importance of lifting correctly for, I have little doubt the band will not restrain a hernia if you lift using your stomach muscles! Oddly enough, and perhaps a rescued 'star' rating as a result, is the fact that the presence of the band seems to remind the brain to make sure you don't 'slouch' when seated or walk with round shoulders - so, for posture correction, the band is actually rather good! It's early days yet, but I am hopeful that with careful management on my part, and by the support this band does provide, I can avoid the operation/procedure - something which, I am reliably informed by a medic, isn't always a permanent solution in itself anyhow.

The Velcro doesn’t stay connected
It keeps coming open from its VelcroI want to send it back but you act like you are not going to stand behind it.I ordered me a different one so hopefully it works when I get it.

Initially did its job, but not when bending over and being active.when it needs some adjustments.
The media could not be loaded. I have another abdominal hernia girdle, in white color, which I bought from a medical supply gear, and i paid about 15 USD more than this one. The white color is very visible worn under some clothing, and gets easily stained when worn on top of other clothing. So I was looking for a black one.I decided to give this one a try.I usually wear under my clothes when I am not at home, directly on my skin. They both make me sweat a lot, like, dripping. so they both need to be washed daily or at least every other day. This is why i bought a secon one.Like some other reviews recommend, you can use a cotton shirt underneath, and another top to cover it, but I live in South Florida, and it's too hot to wear double clothing in addition to this.Comparing to the first one I have, "more professional ", this has:Pros:- competitive price- color goes with any clothing color and doesn't get stained as easily as the white color- lightweight- good support yet softnessCons:- it doesn't have anything to support it on the sides, so it easily rolls up.- the velcro area is as wide as the back where it attaches, and it rolls out (see pictures) so it ruins fabrics. It should be smaller, to prevent the scratchy side to rub on skin or clothing. It has already ruined lots of clothes.- the silicon disc that pushes the hernia is cheaper and less pointed, the cover cannot be removed. But it still does it job well, keeping the hernia in place. If the seller whom I bought the first one had black ones, I would probably have purchased that one instead of this. The support on the back and the velcro issues are the reasons. I am really annoyed now...6 months later: this is really useless. I have used it very little since my initial review, and the velcro no longer stays on. It keeps opening constantly. The other one I have, "the white one" went by mistake in the dryer and I thought I had ruined it. It was a little curled up but it still works has a strong grip.If you need to use this hernia girdle for a long time, more than two or three months, I would recommend to get a more professional one.
