I Love Saturdays y domingos

My students enjoyed this book. I thought it was great especially because I now have some ELL and this book allows them to feel apart of the class.

I loved how this book demonstrated the characters love for her heritage on both sides. Everything that she does with her grandparents is translated in Spanish when she talks about her abuelos 😁Very cute book that’s inspiring for a multi raced child.

I love this book. I really like how the stories somewhat mirror each other, the ending is great, and the illustrations are really nicely done. I will totally buy this book for friends with kids.

Needed for university level assignment (teaching)!

Since my daughter is half white, half Mexican, I thought a book about a little girl spending time with her two sets of loving grandparents from different cultural backgrounds would be perfect for her, and the book got great reviews so I ordered it. However, when I read it I was shocked by how blatantly the book favored the Mexican grandparents. White grandma and grandpa watch a "VCR tape" about the circus, while Abuelito y Abuelita take the child to the zoo. Grandpa has a fish tank, but Abuelito takes her fishing. Grandma collects owl figurines, while Abuelita has live chickens that have just hatched baby chicks. Page after page, this book makes the white grandparents seem like somewhat pathetic elderly people, and the Mexican grandparents are fun-loving and energetic. In summary, I think this is a sweet idea for a book, but horribly written, and I would never expose my daughter to these messages.

Being in an inter-racial marriage with with bi-racial little kiddos, this book is perfect. I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it for our house or give it to the abuelos to keep at theirs...

My family is Mexican and my in-laws are European. This is a great way for me to help introduce the different cultures to my daughter as she grows up and has different experiences with her different grandparents. Also a great way to introduce Spanish in a full and beautifully illustrated book.

Good condition

A great book to celebrate the diversity in a child’s life, in particular being mixed race (white and Spanish).

Being a half Canadian-half Hispanic family, this book is wonderful! We love it!
