From 1969 and 1970 come two of jazz trumpeter Ellis's Columbia recordings. 'Goes Underground' features songs by Laura Nyro, Harry Nilsson and Sly Stone. 'At Fillmore', originally a 2-LP set, showcases the band's live set of mainly original material, though there is also an 18 minute version of 'Hey Jude' Don Ellis sadly died in 1978 at the young age of 44, but his legacy still lives on. Digitally remastered and slipcased. Extensive new notes.

It's the live at the Filmore music that excites the most on this double cd, but again it is another example of Don Ellis bringing a bright and fresh sensibility to all sorts of varied pieces.
