KastarFM720A Ford Ignition Module Wrench

Worked great. Used it to replace the ignition module on my 1988 Ford Bronco II with the 2.9 engine. The torx bit (not used for this application) is epoxied in. I had to heat the epoxy with a torch to remove it due to a clearance issue with the firewall. While this let me use the wrench, it rendered the 1/4" side useless because I melted the plastic that holds the spring. There was probably a better way to remove the torx bit but it could also have been better engineered. At least it got the job done. I had bought a cheaper designed tool at a local auto parts store that stripped on the first bolt.

These wrenches are getting harder to find as the parts they are used on are no longer being used. Looking for the specialized wrench to get off the Ford Ignition Module I settled on the Kastar Wrench. I looked at the other options but was impressed with the versatility of the Kastar. The wrench offers all metal construction and more importantly is made in USA. The offset handle makes it easy to get in tight places and aids in racheting. The wrench also has thumb wheels to get the last few turns in, although they are fairly small and somewhat difficult with thick gloves on. Even though this was double the price of the competitors, it was well worth it.

The Kastar ignition wrench makes ignition module removal easy. In tight quarters, it helps you to remove the module much easier. The ratcheting feature speeds up things. Always use heat-sink grease on the remote module.
