Violin/Viola Clip for the DPA 4099
First, I must point out how pleased we are with our 4099 microphones! When we must amplify the string section of an orchestra in conjunction with rhythm section and jazz band, these mics provide a level of sound quality and isolation which I thought impossible from close micing. The selection of clips plus the gooseneck built into each mic allowed us to experiment at length in choosing the best positioning for each instrument.I do like this particular clip for several reasons. First, even players with expensive instruments have not objected to its use on their instruments. The soft rubber contacts, combined with the adjustible clamping force, mean that we can actually use the clip on even the best instruments. It is also easy to attach, remove and position the clip. The only case where I've had any trouble was with a player who used no shoulder rest, hardly the fault of the clip.A minus of this clip, and my reason for being on Amazon to order (and hence write this review), is that it is possible to close the clip so tightly that it cannot be readjusted. The release lever, very flimsy plastic, broke right off when trying to adjust the clip once it had been closed to the minimum size. The teeth and body of the clip, with the microphone installed in the clip also holding it in place, held it so tightly that we couldn't move it. At this price, I would prefer to have something a bit more robust. Still, I love the mics and the clips are extremely functional.

it does what it is supposed to do
Lot of money for a little piece of plastic, but it is made in Denmark. I use it for an atm 35 pro mic on my mandolin. I had to hot glue it but it is good.
