great little tool, used it to tune in chainsaws and jet skis. would buy again.

I have a pair of inverter generators that I will be using frequently. I needed to keep track of the hours so I knew when I had to service them.I originally bought one of these. They are a little more expensive than the cheapies on Amazon. They looked like a better more durable product but didn't want to get 2 incase they weren't worth it especially without any reviews.The meter works as expected. While running, the RPM's are displayed. When off the hour meter is displayed and you have the option to cycle through to see the hours till the next service, or to the other options to either set your own service interval and cylinder configurations.My only gripe is that I am unable to cycle to the hour meter while the generator is running, its not a big deal at all but I would have liked to have had that option.I ended up buying another one. I recommend these to anyone who needs an hour meter to keep track of servicing of an engine as this takes some of the guess work out of keeping track of it.Overall construction is good, seems like it could take a beating. Not cheap and flimsy. You may notice some bubbling in the pictures, that is the protective film that I have not yet peeled off. They came with double sided adhesive pads for easy installation as well as a couple of zip ties.

This very inexpensive tach, hour meter w/ programmable service reminder has held up to water, vibration, heat and some chemicals without missing a beat for about 6 months, which more than many chinese electronic products last. Tach is accurate as verified against a more precision tach. I initially had this mounted on the pressure pump itself as it was preferred location for viewing but pumps get hot and would likely shorten its life. It could stand to be brighter. I assume its not very bright to maximize sealed battery life. You can turn it off as well but would be better if it was brighter and had auto turn off around 5 minutes if not running.

Good value for the price

Wrapped the wire around spark plug 5 times and for the first 5 hours of my generators break in the time matched my stop watch perfectly. I like the extra functions but wish I could also see the hours when the generator is actually running, not just when turned off.

I bought this for my mini airboat. First thing I noticed was that the engine was not reaching full speed which caused the boat not to reach speed. Tuned the propeller for higher RPMs.Needed a longer lead so I just soldered a 4 ft extension onto the end of the lead. Surprisingly it still worked.

Works like it should. Do not throw away the instructions, read them not that easy to figure out. Liked that it came with some double sided tape mounted to the top of my fuel tank.

I failed bitterly at tuning my atv, but by no means was this the tachometers fault. Very easy to install and read. I have no clue on accuracy.
