A great, trouble free way to cast video to any device with HDMI input from Android devices
Using this I have been able to cast video in perfect quality from different phones (I have tested this with a Galaxy S5 running the stock ROM, a Galaxy Grand Prime running stock ROM, and a Galaxy Grand Prime running AOSP Extended 5.85.) In all cases (Android 5 and Android 8,) it has worked incredibly well. For some reason the first time I tried it there seemed to be intermittent lags and I almost gave up on it, but I tried the following day (and many days since) with no issues whatsoever. I will next add some notes in Installation and Tips below.Installation of the device itself is simple. Just plug it into an HDMI port, connect the included mini USB cable to either an external USB power adapter (not included) or to an USB port in your TV/Projector (the ScreenBeam Mini2 claim 5V/1A input and less than 4W of power consumption, but I am using it with a 5V/500mA USB port providing 2.5W on my TV and it works just fine) and turn on the device. The OS on the ScreenBeam stick will initialize and you will get a screen saying that it is waiting for connections. Installation on Android is very simple. If your device supports Miracast, you just need to start the screen casting session through the option menu in your device. Most often you can find this in the Android Quick Settings drop down (if you don't see a button Edit the Quick Settings menu and add it,) or under Settings > Display. The trick is that Miracast (a protocol) in Android is named by many different names according to each manufacturer, but it is just all the same feature. These are some of the names this might go by according to ActionTec: Screen mirroring (most common) AllShareCast (Samsung devices only) Cast screen Wireless display Wireless mirroring Quick Connect Smart View Screen SharingIf you see any of these, it's most likely what you want. When you enable it, you will be offered a list of devices you can cast to.That's really about it regarding Installation. Some Tips:1. It seems like distance from the emitter (your Android phone) to the receiver (the ScreenBeam Mini2) makes some big difference in quality. The farther you move them apart the more quality will deteriorate. At around 6 feet I see no deterioration, but farther away I can see some periodic artifacts.2. It also seems as if many wireless signals different from the one you are casting might have some effect on performance. I think this is the reason I was having some issues the first day I tried it.3. If you really want to control the resolution you care casting to you need to use a Free and Open Source app called SecondScreen. With this app I am not only able to cast to my 720p LCD TV in 720p quality as soon as I connect to it, but I can also turn off the screen completely on my Samsung Grand Prime phone, which saves a lot of battery. This app requires root, but it is worth it. You can also use it without root by adding some adb shell commands.Regarding the heat issue. My stick gets somewhat warm, but never hot. Somebody posted a remedy to the heat issue (using some miniature heat sinks you can buy for Raspberry Pi's and similar small board computers, but I haven't had a reason to go that route.)I almost gave the product 4 stars because it is annoying that they don't include a power adapter and an HDMI extension cable. In my TV I have 3 HDMI ports but I can only use it in one because of space constraints in the other ports, which are too close to other ports. But the product works to well in itself, so I decided to give it 5 stars.

Works great to cast older phones to a car RCA (AV) connnection using a HDMI to RCA converter
My wives DVD player quit in here car entertainment system and I didn't want to pay $300 - $500 to have it fixed so I decided to find a way to cast from our older phones to the screen because we have unlimited data and its a lot better then carrying DVD's everywhere you go so here's what I did. This video explains how to cast your phone to your car mobile AV system with two devices for a round $50-$60 in equipment .The links to the devices are below we that you can purchase on Amazon. The Screenbeam mini 2 company makes a disclaimer that using the HDMI to AV cable from the Screenbeam mini 2 is not supported so you're not going to get support from them if you're particular phone does not work but all the phones I've tried worked so no support needed. I spent a lot of time trying to come up with a solution for this issue and this is the only way I can see that you can get an older phone to cast to your car AV system. With an older phone that has a lot of stuff on it you may have to give the video time to load before you play it. All the phones I tested had no delay after the video loaded. I tried four phones including the Samsung S4, Samsung S7 edge, Samsung S6, and Kyocera Duraforce 2 and they all worked great. The thing that's great about this setup is you're not using the mobile hotspot on your phone while you're going down the road because the Screenbeam mini 2 has its own mobile hotspot on the device. So if you have an unlimited plan then all the data you're using is your phone data not your Wi-Fi hotspot data. Hope this helps all of you who are trying to accomplish the same thing I was. In theory this should work to cast your phone to any AV device that you can plug the AV cord into. God bless. Here's what you need:ScreenBeam Mini2 Wireless Display Adapter/Receiver with Miracast (SBWD60A01) – Mirror Phone/Tablet/Laptop to HDTV, No Apps Required, Supports Select Android & Windows Devices https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O14JG2Y/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_upi_STJD4HXKX8Z2BHNEQ04R?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1HDMI to RCA Converter Dingsun HDMI to AV Adapter HDMI to Older TV Adapter Compatible for Apple TV, Xiaomi Mi Box, Android TV Box, Roku, Fire Stick, DVD, Blu-ray Player ect. Supports PAL/NTSC https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GRXDZCF/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_XBC57P3RP1A95TTD2KN5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1BTW you can also connect a Firestick to the HDMI to RCA adapter and that works great too but then you will need to use your mobile hotspot data when on the road.

Good entry level casting device
Good product for the price. Connects easily but will cut out if the TV is left on 2 long. Picture quality depends on streaming program.

Bueno bonito y barato

Great! Highly recommend.
Highly recommend. Super product. Truly plug and play. Easy to setup and use, and no glitches in the last month, and I have used it lots when casting to my TVs with HDMI, from my older Samsung phone and new Samsung Tablet or older laptops that have WIDI. It will be great for using while travelling while abroad.I have an older Miracast that I bought 5 years ago and thought that was OK but this is light years better and more reliable. 2 weeks before I bought this, I bought a Chromecast on my travels. I found out the hard way that a Chromecast works well as long as you have a private/home network, but is really useless for the traveller who only has access to a hotel network. I then tried a MHL wired adapter, and it works well, but sucks the life out of my phone. The Miracst works even better than my Kodi box to receive a cast screen.I am very happy.

Wonderful Device! Easily connected old Android 4.02 tablet to 27" monitor. Working within 5 minutes after opened the box!
Couldn't be happier! I was worried that my old 7 inch Asus android tablet (running android 4.02) would not be able to miracast to my 23 inch wall-mounted monitor across the room (18 feet distance). To my amazement, however, literally within five minutes of opening the box and plugging the cables together, it was working perfectly!Absolutely a wonderful experience! Before ordering this I also compared other dongles promising miracast android connectivity, but the thing that ultimately convinced me to settle on the Actiontec ScreenBeam Mini 2, is the apparent stability of the company itself. They have a full-blown website, and obvious customer service and technical support options after the sale. Nothing in Chinese either! So, I'm very happy I paid extra to get this adapter. It has already saved me a whole bunch of grief (absolutely NO PROBLEM CONNECTING, and will be a good long-term investment because the company is US-based apparently and I suspect will be happy to stand behind the product, based on other customer reviews. Also Actiontec has LEGIBLE (BIG PRINT) PRINTED INSTRUCTIONS (vs the little, microscopic-print printed "PigeonEnglish" instructions that come with other cheap-0 electronics I;ve bought in the past. WELL DONE ACTIONTEC! You've got a customer for life! Very happy I got this!
