What a disappointment this purchase was. The water tastes "plastic", does not get cold at all. The cooler has no "feet" so it wobbles around on the floor. This is very unsafe as I do not want it tipping over on a child or pet.We had an old Oasis cooler that was fantastic and provided us with wonderful cold water for 12 years. This one lasted us 1 hour then we unplugged it to ship back.Don't purchase this Oasis model. Move on to another type of cooler.The fact that I am the first review, should have been my clue that this is not a good product.Two days later: I feel it is only fair to edit my review. We called the Oasis company and they suggested we "sanitize" the unit with water/bleach solution. We did this last evening and the results were excellent. No more "plastic" taste.The water is very cold and now tastes almost as it should. We feel that in a short while we will have perfect tasting water. So happy we 'stuck with it'.

Perfect, arrived perfect shipped UPS Saturday, I bought it because our old cooler, a GE from Home Depot takes forever to fill up a glass, water pitcher, or the Keurig water tank. BUY THIS COOLER if you are tired of waiting for water to fill up. Also anyone that has hand problems will appreciate not having to wait for a glass to fill up. The Tank is stainless steel which is NOT MENTIONED in the product description. I had to go to another website and search for a better product description on the BPD1SHS WHI model# to see. LOVE IT, recommend it.

I purchased this cooler to replace a rental cooler to save on the monthly charges. This cooler is easy to set up and use. The hot water works very well. The cold water comes out a little slow and takes a bit to fill a large glass. Otherwise no problems so far.

It's perfect for my family. We have a 16 month old baby who is learning not to touch to water handle but because there is no hot water we don't worry about her safety. I like my water at room temperature and my husband likes it cold so the features of this cooler are perfect. Plus the water flow is fast. Am quite pleased with this new cooler so far.

About a week after purchasing this water cooler, I noticed it was making loud popping noises as it would run. I didn't think much about it because every water cooler runs differently, so I figured if it were to get worse at least it's covered under a warranty. Well after owning it for just 9 months, it got worse. The compressor went out on the cooler, stopping the machine from cooling the water and running altogether. I contacted the manufacturer's customer service, but wasn't greeted with the friendliest person. She took my personal information and left it for a service agent to contact me back. After not hearing back from anyone, I followed-up with them. Second phone conversation was much worse. The man actually had the audacity to yell at me on the phone and tell me nothing was wrong with the compressor. I asked to speak to a manager after being so disrespected and was placed on hold for 15 minutes with no one further assistance. Needless to say, I was upset. I had a fairly new water cooler that wasn't working and I was going no where with the manufacturer honoring it's product warranty. Luckily enough, Amazon is amazing! I contacted their customer service and was greeted with much better service. They stood by the purchase and helped me in resolving this issue. Oasis was a household name with my family. Let's say I'm a third generation Oasis owner, and past experience with the coolers were great, with them lasting for years. Sadly, the brand is not what it used to be. And after my experience with a short lived cooler and horrible customer service, I will not be purchasing another Oasis water cooler again.

The BPD1SHS Hot/Cold cooler came with cleaning instructions that barely make sense, and no clear instructions for how to start using the unit. There are two pieces included with the unit that are not mentioned either in the 1-page cleaning "manual" nor on Oasis' website (even on the replacement part ordering page for this unit).The crappy manual uses industry terms for parts without showing diagrams to show what actual parts it's referring to, so a layperson is left guessing what to do. There isn't even a clear explanation of whether the product is ready to use right out of the box, or if these floating parts need to be installed somewhere, or if the plastic stem tube in the main tub should be removed before placing a bottle on top so water can actually enter the unit.In case you think I'm flailing around helplessly because I have no experience with consumer items, I've successfully put together treadmills, exercise bicycles, kitchen appliances, desks, and many other complex products. Yet this water cooler has stumped me. If Oasis' customer support provides better information than the mini manual, I'll update this review with how the product actually works. But if I can't get the unit to work in the first place, it deserves one star.Amazing how some companies will create a product and then provide the worst possible set-up instructions possible that ruin everything the engineers created. Shame on Oasis.UPDATE - customer service responded with more helpful diagrams that explain what each part is and how they're installed or removed. Unit works as expected. You can use this with no-spill bottles that have a peel-away label on top of the special plastic opening so that the stem will pierce the center of the cap. Unit is a little noisy at times and knocks on occasion, but otherwise isn't a problem. Oasis puts a protective label over the hot water switch on the back that is very difficult to remove due to the metal coils in the way. Dumb!
