DIY Steering Wheel Covers Made of Soft Leather on the Steering Wheel of the Car with Needle and Thread Interior Accessories Black

Steering wheel on my 20yr old Ford Fiesta was showing signs of wear, wanted something to improve appearance and hand comfort when driving Took a little bit of persuassion to get onto the wheel but with 5 minutes of light stretching and persuasion around the wheel it was soon in place. Stitching took about an hour but I was watching a couple of online tutorials as I went along to ensure I got a good finish around the spars of the wheel, needle and thread included were easy to work with For what is a very cost effective product and investment of time it was well worth it. If you were to rush it I imagine you could make a bad job of it, so do it on a quiet day and give yourself the time you need and it will be fine. I found that rotating the steering wheel at certain points made it easier to see where I was threading the needle. I made one small mistake where I pulled the thread too tight right at the start so you can see it's stretched a touch at the bottom of the wheel but now we're using it it is becoming less noticible as the material forms to the wheel

As you can see in the first photo, the steering wheel on my car had become very worn and it was getting uncomfortable to use as it felt like sand paper on my hands so I purchased this in the hope that it would save me having to replace the whole steering wheel. It was quite fiddly to stretch the material over the steering wheel as it kept falling off in different places but once it was on it was very straight forward and only took about an hour or so to sew into place. It has now been on my steering wheel for over a year and it’s still looking brand new! It’s lovely and soft and has saved me the cost of buying a replacement so I’m really pleased.

Initial thoughts were: this is never going to fit. However, I left it in the sun for a few hours to warm it up and tried again. Not easy to get on the wheel, I used cable ties to hold it in place whilst stretching it over the rest of the wheel. Once successful (small gym workout) started to stitch (in a very warm car!) End result looks good 🙂

NOT genuine leather. Returning (which is an inconvenience as I have to go out to the post office especially and queue) because I am fed up of falsely sold goods.

I put it on today. It looks great feels good. If u have not done it before look it up on YouTube I did and it easy when u do as No instructions with it to help u.

Not easy to put in and requires some patience and all but worth all the work, smooth, great feel on the steering wheel and looks great

I have a standard size steering wheel on a Seat. Unless you have a smaller sized steering wheel this will probably not fit. Only covered about half of mine, with that stitching was not great along with no instructions on how it should be stitched. Good quality for the actual material of the cover though

Had to stretch it to make it fit on the steering wheel and then it was no where near wide enough to sew without a large gap. I won't be fitting this to my steering wheel so it will be in the bin. Looks to be ok if you have a small thin steering wheel, but that's not what I have so no good to me.

Compré la funda con el hilo de color azul. Me llegó el paquete bien envuelto con la funda plegada y dos "rollos" de hilos con dos agujas. Encajó perfecto la funda (tuve que tensar un poco) importante medir el volante, el mío mide 36,8 y el que venden es para 37/38cm y fue justo. Supongo que con talco o reblandeciéndolo se puede dar de si un poco más. Coserlo es la mar de sencillo y en veinte minutos estaba hecho, habiendo de rectificar un par de veces. No tiene ninguna dificultad, me sobró todo un "rollo" de hilo y un poco más. Queda perfecto, bien cerrado y mucho mejor que las fundas sin cordón, parece un volante original y nuevo. Los que lo han visto colocado pensaban que era original de fábrica. Estoy encantado con el producto y volvería a comprarlo. Le doy cinco estrellas. Muy contento. El transporte y entrega perfectos como siempre y sin queja.

I just installed and item is better than I expected. Steering feels like original, it wrapped very well.
