Unsolved problems.
Can not get it to beat when a message has been left. Now husband has lost the instructions to the answering machine. Is there any way we can get another instruction paper? We have had the system for about 2 months. When we still had the instructions, they were very confusing and hard to understand and follow. We tried quite a few times to solve the problem but now we don't know what my husband did with the instructions. Any help you can give us would be greatly appropriated. This machine was NOT cheap.

satisfied so far
First, thank you to the reviewers who explained how to record the outgoing message! :) I bought this to replace a well-loved Phonemate 4200 that had worked for almost 13 years before getting spotty. Let me add that I agree with all who have said it: If only we could still get dual-full-size-cassette analog machines, with unlimited per-message length and long overall tape length! I would have bought one if I could have found it, but the reviews for this machine made it sound like it would do what we needed. So far, so good. The set-up was straighforward except for recording the outgoing message (for which I used the amazon.com page as a reference). I liked that you can choose a 3-digit security code, as well as a 3-digit code for people to dial in if they want to be announced as a "priority caller". We don't have caller-ID, so I didn't bother turning those features on. I tested the machine, and it works as promised with regard to being a "tollsaver" (fewer rings to answer if there are new messages). The sound quality is ok, but not great, but that's ok for voice-message-recording purposes. I liked that you can turn it so you either do or do not hear the outgoing message as your caller hears. Hangups are not recorded as messages, which is good--but if your caller hangs up during the outgoing message, the outgoing message does finish playing to completion. The remote-access codes are convoluted, but there is an available wallet card (two copies for separate users). If you don't want to use the separate mailboxes, you can just ignore that option and the default is to have all messages go to the first mailbox.

The unit would NOT turn on. Do not buy anything from this third party vendor.
The machine was not as advertised. It will not turn on. I had bought it as a back up from when my other office answering machine went out and when that happened this unit will not turn on.

Will see if works. Not happy with it being used
I ordered this answering machine for my office. I received it today. It arrived with the box barely taped. The box that the answering machine was in was old and it appears to have been used , had several pulled off price tags and not new. I will try to hook it up when I get to work. If it doesn’t work I will send it back

works as promised
I liked the price and the machine works very well. However, the instructions are confusing but the more we use it the more we learn.

Look elsewhere for a multibox answering machine.
Difficult to follow instructions, cannot hang on wall, intermittently poor quality sound, cuts off messages, and many other problems.

I had a really nice one, but sadly it died after 10 years ...
works find, but not what I was really looking for... I wanted a machine that handled 'distinctive ring' by putting it through to one of the extra mailboxes, but it doesn't work that way. It would only put a call through to a separate mailbox if the caller pushed #2 or #3 and for that to work you have to leave it in your outgoing message, so this is very different than 'distinctive ring'. I figured out the instruction on how to leave an outgoing message, but they were different than what came with the instructions. I will continue to use it until I can find one that handles 'distinctive ring'. I had a really nice one, but sadly it died after 10 years of continual use and Casio doesn't make them anymore.
