Even my 90 yr Dad can work this
Simple, straight forward, old fashioned mobile phone with big buttons which I bought for my Dad.Even my Dad who is 90 yrs old can work this. He refuses to accept that Apple is anything other than a 30p fruit from the supermarket. And Windows are things which the window cleaner cleans every month.Would definitely buy again.

Fab for my 83 year old mum
So my mum does not use technology, she had an old Nokia that she has for emergencies and she can send texts, however the phone was tiny, small buttons and a very small screen so we did our research and saw this one recommended by 'Which' as a 'best buy' so that was a good start! Its a good size and she loves it, i cant ever remember her being actually positive about any new tech but she was about this! The emergency button on the back is a great feature. Programme in up to 5 numbers and type a prepared text. If the button is pressed and held down for three seconds, it sends the text to all five numbers and then starts to ring them all in a constant loop til one of the them answers. When the button is activated, it sounds a loud buzzer and there is an option to cancel it in case its been pressed by mistake This lasts for about 5 seconds and then it starts to contact people. Nice and easy to set up. Camera and torch arent brilliant but thats not what we bought it for

Good, for what it is.
This isn't exactly what I wanted but it does the job. I would rather have had a small flip phone but couldn't find one that suited. Would rather not have had all the SOS button stuff cluttering up the phone, but it's nearly impossible to find a basic 2g phone now that doesn't have it. That said, the Doro isn't as heavy as some and was very easy to set up, seems simple to use, and accepted the micro Giff Gaff sim with no trouble at all. Not cheap, but reasonably good value for money given what's available these days.

Great easy to use phone!
Just bought this for my elderly mother. She only wants a mobile to be able to make the occasional call if she needs too. She finds the buttons on mobile phones too small and she needed something that was really simple to use. This is ideal. It has a good clear screen. You can put 10 numbers on speed dial so she just has to press a keypad number to call me. You can make text bigger. The sound can be made to be quite loud. Keypad buttons are clear and a bit bigger than normal phones. It's great if you wanted to text too. It's got various features. Love it, just what I was looking for, well done Doro! You need to buy a 2g SIM for it. Only about 50p and I bought mine from Amazon, from a well known Internet only based provider who gives £5 free credit and then I set it up as pay as you go only for my mum, you don't have to purchase a package. The phone was easy to set up.

Great simple phone.
I have used a similar Doro phone for a few years and really like it, so I got one of these for my mum to replace her trusty 20 year old Nokia, as she now has trouble seeing its tiny screen. This Doro phone is pretty big for a basic mobile ( about iphone 5 size ) so all the buttons are nice and big and the screen display shows everything big and clear. You can set the ringer good and loud and when speaking to someone you can hear them loud and clear as well. There is speed dial button to put in your most used numbers which makes calling people very easy. The torch and camera are both handy. She dosn't use it that much ( she generally uses her landline ) so the battery usually lasts at least a week. If you just need a good simple phone to call and text without having to worry about all the latest tech of a smartphone, then this is great...and it also looks quite good in white too.

Good product
Bought this for elderly relative is a technophobe. Nice big buttons for easy use and I like the button on back which when pressed will call more than one person if the user needs emergency assistance.Battery life seems quite long as well.Only downside was adding credit to the phone came with a sim and GBP 10 voucher but despite whatever I tried would not accept the voucher. Whether I was doing it wrong. In end had to register on my phone with vodaphone and credit the phone. Was tricky and long winded.Overall good product

Good phone, except for the keypad lock
Having used this phone, there have been several occasions where the keypad lock has come off on its own, and randomly dialled someone from my contacts. The reason, because to release it all you need to do is press and hold the star key for a few seconds, which can easily happen in your pocket. So hopefully Doro reads some of these reviews. To fix this they could change the software so that in order to release lo release keypad you press up, then stat. If any other key is pressed before star it resets so you need to press up again. If unlimited time in between that, it should allow an elderly person time to press both keys. The emergency button on the back would need to over ride the key lock, but a flap could be screwed over it that could quickly be flipped out the way in the event that it was needed, or unscrewed completely if someone feels their relative may not easily be able to knock it out the way.Otherwise an excellent phone, battery life is ok, I can get a few hours talk time out of it without needing to charge, and quite simple to use other than the minor problem outlined above. If not for the key lock constantly coming off this would be a 5 star phone, so Doro if you see this, please make the changes I mention above.
