Genuine GORILLA-LIFT 2-Sided Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist

i have a 6x10 utility trailer and always opened/ closed by hand. Purchased this lift , mounted and it works great! Cant adjust so the gate rests on the ground- couple inches above. Will experiment but it will work as isif your top frame is tubular you will most likely have to buy new bolts (3 1/2")the supplied bolts as 16s and my hardware store only carried 18 turn so i had to buy nuts toorecommend adding locking washersAdd a piece of tape on the bolt heads to prevent them from pushing out of their slot when tightening1 handed use now

Product works well and seems strong and well built. It is best to read complete instructions and have an extra person when installing. You better be very careful when the tailgate is down that you watch out for the mechanical cable on both sides. Two people have already tripped and fallen in the past month. One of them was me and i was fortunate to walk away with just a banged shin nearly missing hitting my face. I have thought about painting the cable day glow orange.

Once you get the holes all drilled it is easy to install. It takes awhile to get all the holes drilled due to the size of them. The rest is a breeze to do. The lift worked perfectly & the tailgate can be raised & lowered with one finger. It looks nice on the trailer & customer was very pleased with it. The double springs are very tough & should give years of service. Worth every penny.

Excellent product. Installed on double axle ,7000 lb rated landscaping trailer . Gate would not come down. Had to remove one side of lift . Found out I only could use one lift for proper operation installing gate anchor bolt as low as possible. Wish I had checked operation with one side only before drilling and installing both sides. This product really works great and is worth every penny to save your back.

Boy this is something I wish I had known about sooner. Five bolt assembly. Comes in a pack of two but my trailer only needed one. The hardest part of installation was drilling the holes. I found it easier to understand the directions on You tube than the printed ones.

This product appears to be well made. The ease of the gate operation was exactly what I needed as I age. Easy on the back and easy up and down.

What an awesome addition to mytrailer. The gate was like doing a power lift Everytime I closed it. My trailer is a heavy duty 10k with supports on the gate to load heavy equ7 and all and this thing still makes it possible to close it with literally one finger amazing. Best thing is all of the parts are available to purchase separately so I the future when things were out I'm not stuck with a useless metal tube mounted on the trailer. But it once buy it for the life of the trailer. I mounted mine custom. I welded on the lift tubes and bought some 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" square perforated plated steel tubing from Lowe's, welded that on the trailer gate and made my own studs to attach the cables to out of 1/2" rod that I threaded 2 1/2" and drilled at the end to accept a cotter pin (see pics). This way it's adjustable in the future when the springs start to naturally fatigue. I just move it up a hole to maintain the correct tension for the lift assist. I also have a few adjustments in the other direction. Cutting 100 lawns a week and literally having to open and close the gate over 200 times in 3-4 days this thing is a back saver. I love this thing. I took off one start though because it should come with an adjustable mounting option for the studs that go on the gate. That's kind of a crude way to mount it the way they say to do it (just drill a hole at the point where the tension is correct and forget about it) because you know the springs are going to lose some tension relatively quick and it's going to need to be adjusted.

Easy to install and is a back saver…..Do not get to aggressive when tightening the 5/16 bolts, they can and will break. (No spares included)
