Simple set up no tools needed. It's a cheap quality but I was looking for something cheap and simple and that's exactly what you get so don't expect too much. I'm overall happy with it, great for a kid's desk if your looking for something more sturdy pay a little more for a desk chair. But again cheap but durable.

What was expected

It was a child's chair not a secretarial chair as led to believe. Plus doesn't hold an adult sitting in it. The hydraulic (???) lever to adjust the height releases with anyone weighing above 160 lbs and goes down to the floor. Would not recommend for purchase. Very disappointed. I even researched the specs on this chair thoroughly prior to placing the order.

Perfect for my 6 year old's desk, he loves it and it functions well. It's a good quality chair, and out of all the kids/youth desk chairs I researched, I'm glad I went with this one!
