ObusForme Backrest Support Enhanced Design Obus, Black, Large

We have a 2008 Subaru Outback. We love that car, except for 1 thing. The seats are terrible! I recently began to develop some chronic pain in my neck and shoulders from something unrelated, but that pain made sitting in the Outback almost unbearable. I'm 5'1" and the seats are clearly sized for somebody larger. First, those #**&@! new-style headrests that angle forward so much it forces my neck to bend down at an awkward angle. And second, the seat and backrest have this dip that I fall into and make my posture uncomfortably hunched. It got to the point where I dreaded sitting in that car, either as a driver or passenger. I even started looking into getting a different car.I scoured the internet for a solution to this problem, short of buying another car. Turns out A LOT of people have the same problems with their newer cars, particularly with the headrests, which were mandated sometime in 2008-2009 to angle more forward than in the past in order to prevent whiplash. Some people just turned the headrest backwards, but my Outback headrest was so angled that when I flipped it around, it was basically like not having a headrest at all.Finally, I came across one lone post in a sea of comments in various forums that mentioned the Obusforme. I found it on Amazon and immediately bought it.It's great! The curvature in the backrest makes my posture much more comfortable when I sit, so it's great for my back pain. It has also solved the car problem. My head is now far enough away from the headrest that it's no longer being pushed forward. And I no longer hunch in the dip of the car seat.We recently purchased a Lazy Boy recliner. Turns out it doesn't offer enough support for me and it aggravates my back pain when I sit in it for long periods. There goes $800 down the drain, I thought. Well, I decided to put the Obusforme on the Lazy Boy and boy, did that help.Loved it so much I bought one for my husband and another for my mother. They both love it as well.1 star deduction for the high price, and also it is a little firm for me. But overall, highly recommend.

Very nice quality. Works well for lower back. For me it requires securing into place. I am very tall ( 6'3" ) so this is a little bit too short for me and does not quite cover the upper shoulder/ back area wear I had surgery. I do not believe that it is a design or quality issue. No beef on the price. It's high quality. I would have given it FIVE stars if it fit ME better. Great quality, priced right. Good delivery. It has reduced LOWER back symptoms after a short period of time getting used to it. My chiropractor used to sell these and highly recommends them.

Bought it for use in our motor home because the OEM seat did not have a lumbar support. This provides good support but moves around a lot even with the holding straps pulled tight. I'm going to see if a auto upholstery shop can install this back support inside the backrest of the seat. I think it will work much better with the back rest as a permanent part of the seat.

I am a professional driver, and I need a good back support. The only thing that bothered me was the picture that they show has handles, but the actual product doesn't. Other than that, it does its job.

Comfortable, seems sturdy - have had the Obus Forme Support Cushion for a week now. Only 2 minor complaints -i suggest a design that is a bit wider. These are fairly narrow. And the price was quite high, but hopefully it will last a LONG time and be worth it. But i do like the back support it gives.

I am very satisfied with this backrest support cushion. Offers great support to lower back especially. Easily attaches to my high back computer chair. Not too warm against your skin either. The only thing I wish it had was a removable cover so it could be laundered. I also purchased the Obus Forme by Conair ultra ergonomic orthopedic seat cushion that is recommended to use with this backrest and together they perform very well.

My physical therapist recommended this. I leave it in my car. Does grab my hair sometimes.

I've used several back supports and this one is the best. I use it in my office chair and my car. I have even purchased one for my wife's car and she loves it. Highly recommend.

Excellent back support for the car, the lumbar support sits in just the right place. It was a total life saver when I was suffering from extreme lower back pain, changing my journeys from complete discomfort to total comfortable. I was so surprised and pleased that I bought a second one for the passenger seat as well. i found that the Large size fitted out SUV well. When my back was really bad I would also take it into the house with me and use it on an Ikea rocking chair I have, and it made such a huge difference, providing immense relief.

Great back support for long drives.Only problem is that it moves my body forward on the seat so that I don't get as much support for the thighs and need to move the seat all the way back in order not te feel scrunched against t he steering.

Arrived on time. Exactly as expected. Will hopefully help my back! (I bought the large one on sale. My chair back is a little low for it, but it fits fine even if not attached to the back of the chair.)

I have back and neck problems, so it is difficult for me to do 2 hours rides in any vehicle. I use this backrest in my car. It offers a very great support for the whole back and thus, a better posture. It have much more endurance with it, and much less pain. It really helps me.

NOT a highback unit (so it won't support your head), but excellent support for the lower back. I'm a longtime fan of ObusForme products and this works just like I hoped.
