Beautiful.
I purchased this Aztec Double-Headed Serpent last year. When I saw it on Amazon I knew I had to have it to decorate my classroom. It is gorgeous. The dimensions are 16"L x 7.5"H x .75"W. This serpent is not just painted but it is textured as well. It really stands out. The kids in my class always want to touch it, especially the fangs. If you want to decorate with Aztec-inspired pieces, this one is fantastic.

Beautiful artwork
The double-headed snake was almost everything i wanted. It was beautiful except for one thing: the teeth were greenish. I had to paint them white to more correctly align them with the real thing.

better than expected
Love it. Didn't look that closely at dimensions and it is bigger than I expected, which is great. The detail and texture is better than I'd hoped. Not research quality, since the mosaics don't match exactly and the eyes are different, but it's a great replica and a research quality model would be much, much more expensive. I am very happy with it. One thing that is different from the original is the eyes. In the original the eyes seem to be missing, but they think it had eyes because of the way the sockets were made. A very similar piece of turquoise mosaic art from the same area (a skull mask) has polished pyrite eyes, and it seems reasonable the serpent would have had similar eyes, so in this reproduction they have included black eyes to resemble polished pyrite. So this piece looks more like the original would have looked when it was new and well cared for.

Worth the buy
I really love the old style colour variation and the size is fairly decent for the price. This is a must have for ancient relic lovers and historic art enthusiasts. I highly recommend this beautiful piece.

Gorgeous art piece!
I love it! The piece is solid. Nothing flimsy or cheap here. The colors look worn and give the appearance of age. This is the perfect art piece for my wall.

Disappointing
It is not a particularly good replica of the original and does look somewhat cheap. The colours are off, the teeth are black and the backside is flat - all unlike the original artifact. Doesn't really fit well with the rest of my adventure-themed living room either because it's plastic and easily the tackiest looking thing in there. Disappointed. Expected more from Design Toscano. Really not worth £30. More like £12.

NOT GREAT
Although the DT catalogue is filled with tacky crap, I'm very pleased with my small selection so far. I prefer the replicas of historical art, etc. I only paid $25 AUD for this serpent, but it's not great. It just doesn't seem to have the quality of the other things I've bought. Okay for that money though.

Molto bello
Davvero molto bello.

Two Stars
Good casting - very poor painting/decoration. Seen the original - this is a poor copy.
