Better than I expected. Comparable to big box brands at a much better price.
I primarily purchased this for the amount of fabric on the roll. 220yds is a good amount, expecially of 4ft fabric. I was expecting it to be very lightweight and flimsy. But I was doing an unimportant area and just wanted the most landscape fabric for the least amount of money. I feared that I wasn't going to have enough, given the other reviews of rolls being shorter than 220yds so I went out and got a roll from the local Home Depot of the Vigoro medium duty fabric as well. I spent almost as much on a 4x100 roll of that as I did on the Scott's fabric. As it turns out, they were remarkably similar. I would say this fabric was slightly heavier then the Vigoro fabric but that's about the only difference I could tell. It was easy to work, easy to cut with a household scissors or utility knife, easy to roll out and pin down. What more is there (other than blocking weeds)? While I didn't do an exact measurement, I can confidently say I got over 200 yards on the roll. I would choose it before the Vigoro branded stuff. Great value for the money. As far as improvements, the primary thing that would make it nicer is if it had a grid pattern printed on it. It does not. I've used other brands in the past that did and that's a really nice feature that I never knew I wanted until I experienced it.Overall, definitely a very good value. Not disappointed at all.

Good bargain, you will not find a better price and works well if you know what to do!
I see a lot of reviews on here where people are taking pictures of weeds growing through the barrier, but I think it's due to a misunderstanding in how this stuff works.I put down this fabric about a year ago with nothing beneath it but soil and nothing on top, ZERO weeds have grown through it the entire time. I have another area with this fabric with 1/4" Montana river rock on top, I've had VERY SMALL amounts of weeds - i'm talking maybe 5 or 6 at best in the last year.I do have another area where I put mulch on top and that does indeed have weeds and grass growing into the fabric but I think you will have this problem with pretty much any fabric. Frankly there is no 100% effective method at preventing such a thing. If a seed gets into the material on top of the fabric - and the material contains growing nutrients (aka mulch, crushed rock) - then you will have weeds. Simple as that. The most effective thing one can do is to make sure there is nothing under the fabric when placing it. One effective method is to put plastic or cardboard on top of the soil and then put the fabric on top of the cardboard/plastic, but you still need to have about 3"+ of mulch or bark chips on top of it all.Montana river rock has been the best thing for me - I only have about a 1" or less layer of it and it's held up great with this fabric. I would stay away from anything that produces fine grain sand like crushed rocks or gravel as this can mix with the pollen and stuff falling from nearby vegetation and allow for a growing medium for weeds.

Does a great job
This material is large enough for us to use across our property. We cover the area right around the house but this still takes a LOT of material to do the job properly. The size of these rolls is very helpful. Get heavy lawn staples to nail it down well; don't skimp!

Its good for what it is
It is what it is. This is not some heavy mil tarp. Its weed barrier. Use it for what its desinged fornand its great.I use it to cover my 50x3' rows, the fabric covers the aisles too. Yes, its flimsy, but this is weed barrier, not pond liner! And it DOES let water through just fine. I dont know what tue reviewers saying it doesnt are seeing, but it works just fine.Lucky for me though, I found a place nearby thats giving away thick silage tarp for free. Otherwise id be buying more

It worked great
I used this for a vegetable garden at a community garden. I over lapped the sections by one foot and folded the ends over by about 6 inches. I held it down using 3.5 inch U shaped lawn fabric spikes every couple of feet. The end of the season is approaching and it has worked great. I have had no weeds coming through the fabric. Some people using other products at the community garden haven't done as well. Some guys fabric ripped apart on a windy day. A few others either have weeds coming through or growing underneath and pushing the fabric up. I've had no problems. It has worked as I hoped it would. I'll use it again next year.

Works Fine
Product worked for my purpose. I use it for my garden plants. I cut a hole for each plant and secure fabrick with a few brick around the perimeter. I do not cover with mulch. Saves me a heck of a lot of weeding. Product was not as thick or heavy as I had hoped. Over all, working for my needs.

No Weeds!
I use this landscape fabric for several purposes... 1) We made a grave walkway where my dogs have destroyed my lawn. So, in an area where we had grass before, I just laid the Scotts fabric down, put my edging in and poured my gravel on top. No Grass or weeds go through. Dogs happy, lawn happy, home happy. 2) I use this in my vegetable gardens to keep the weeds down, soil moist and warm. I put holes in to plant my veggies and herbs. They grow through the holes and weeds don't. More Happiness!

Commercial Quality Roll
I used this to cover vegetable rows in my garden; it is thicker and stronger than material I used last year. Easy to lay down (if there's not too much wind) and cuts with a sharp knife. I know it will keep the weeds down, help retain moisture, and keep my garden neat. I like it and I will buy it again. This large roll would be plenty for most small garden plots--I can't verify how much material is on a roll; I cut i to length.

A great product!
It is a good quality cloth and it came even earlier than predicted. We use it to keep the sand that the city pits down in the winter off our boulevard grass. In the Spring we jus lift the cloth and roll the sand to the street. It saves raking it off.

Curtains

Great price, good product
Great price compared to what was available locally, and for almost 2X the length roll! Perfect for covering my raised beds in the fall to keep out weeds, seeds and other debris until time to plant again in spring. Quality product from Scotts.

Great value
Excellent value. Not the thickest material, but at this price it’s still good value if you double layer. I personally used a single layer and was pleased with the results.
