HIC Kitchen Ribbed Custard Cup Set, Fine White Porcelain, 5-Ounce, Set of 6

I have had some pots de creme jars for almost 50 years (mine were made in France). Since my kids grew up eating chocolate mousse in them, I was excited to find these on amazon, and ordered two sets for my son's family, who live in Malaysia. One arrived with a broken handle, so I promptly wrote to the company and asked whether they would be willing to send a replacement. I have not yet heard back from them, so my son has been holding on to the pieces, not knowing whether he has to ship a broken item back to the US in order to get a replacement. They are really cute, but I don't know whether the quality is poor (these are made in China and not in France) or whether they were poorly packed. My French pots de creme jars have weathered years of use (with young children) and several domestic and international moves.

I read all of the reviews for these custard cups and almost didn't order them because of some of the negative reviews. I don't know what THEY were talking about but I received 6 perfect porcelain custard cups. They were extremely well made, very sturdy (and here's what I don't get what they were talking about...) and in NO WAY were they paper thin and fragile. I did a lot of comparison shopping for these cups and many other online kitchen stores (one very upscale) carry the exact same product by the exact same manufacturer. And in all cases, these custard cups came highly recommended. I think the negative folks automatically downgrade them because they are made in China.So I would respectfully say to you, please carefully read these reviews and consider the Five and Four Star reviews. I would recommend this product, without hesitation, to anyone.I also have other HIC white porcelain items and have always found them to be a quality product.

The description of these is pretty misleading. I had read in one of the Q & A s that these held 6 oz (I know the description states 4 oz), but I could not get more than about 3 oz of water in one. They are very cute, and look to be good quality. We wanted to use them for a pots du creme dessert in our restaurant and they were too small for a serving of dessert.

These are cute, but they are not 4 oz cups. They will hold 2-3oz. I will find a use for them, but it won't be for Pots de Creme. I would have to own two sets to keep from wasting some of the custard.

These little cups are perfect for preparing baked eggs. They work with either one or two eggs. They hold the heat well yet the rims a cool enough to touch.

Perfect portion pot for dessert! I love that it has a lovely lid.

I didn’t use these but I wanted to give these to my friend as a Christmas present because we went to France together but when I opened the box to make sure they weren’t broken the were so tiny they looked so tiny they looked like they could be part of a playset.

I was looking for a small cup to serve specialty desserts and these work well. Most of my guests appreciate a smaller portion for richer tasting desserts due to health reasons or personal preference. These fit the bill nicely. Vendor was prompt in delivering product and they were nicely packed. Happy here!

Awesome high quality ceramic cups. Arrived in perfect condition, albeit the packaging was a little flimsy. I've already used the set twice for custard and it's faring really well. Would recommend!
