In a word, great
I never saw Spooks when it first aired years ago as I was either going out or whatever so I saw the odd episode on Freeview not so long ago but with all the ghastly advert breaks (it must have been a joy to see on BBC where it first aired with no breaks..) so I have brought all the complete series now, one at a time, via Amazon. I find them very plausible, no realistic might be a better word and considering the news events since this series ended on TV - which we get to know about - perhaps too true to real life events in the real world. If ever there was time to bring back a series, it’s Spooks - great stories, writing and acting. Sadly missed but live on via DVD’s.

10 out of 10 for violence
It was certainly exciting and the story while being somewhat unbelievable did hold your attention and created the desire to view the next, but do we really need to have quite the huge amount of violence, and we do how can we possibly expect it not to spill over and onto our streets. I am a firm believer in, if you watch enough of something that is initially highly offensive in time your natural repulsion of it wrongness is replaced by a sterile ambivalence to its horror. And that applies to a great many aspects of life. TV and its influence has I believe much to answer for in forming many of the wrongs in our society today, and unfortunately a even decreasing influence for good.

Great choice of actors
Hooked on this. First series I have watched. Big fan of the way this is written. Lots of twists to the plots and sub plots. Great choice of actors. Story lines are relevant and exciting. Enjoyed the fact it is filmed in London. Richard Armitage does a great job.

Another Fantastic Series
You can't beat Spooks. This is part of the whole set we are collecting and addicted to. Series 9 takes you even further into the intrigue of MI5 that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. I would highly recommend this series and infact I would highly recommend all 10 series as they are brilliant. I wish they would make more - lets start a campaign to bring back Spooks series 11-20. Happy viewing and enjoy

Clever, fresh enough for another round
Spooks 9 was entertaining, if a bit short on quantity. The main plot was very well thought out - tailored to my sense of the main actors characters. Half way through, I thought the plot was as full of holes as a couple of the baddies but it covered them well later... not a bad touch - playing even more than usual on our perception, a hallmark of 'MI-5,' along with the other realistic feature that really makes it stand out - ethical dilemma. However, ongoing musical chairs with MI-5 operatives, while edgy and lending variety - warning us, like them, not to become too emotionally attached - is a double-edged sword, for I find myself consciously distancing myself from the show's barrage of clever and manipulative emotional hooks. (Still, preserving its most stable characters saves it - you have to have someone whom it's reasonably safe to care about in order to care about the show).Anyway, this series finally focuses on the problem, with love stories featuring squarely, though (naturally) only at the expense of professional integrity. Every man has his price - maybe that's what makes him human - and here in the service, it's women. I suppose that is as good as one can expect but (note emotional protective evasion measure) maybe another reason we shouldn't worry too much now that the producer finally packed it in.
