I have read book many times and loved it every single time
I read this book in my teens, in my twenties and now my thirties and I loved it every time. Each story is wonderful and every time I tradition want to punch Dimitri Avalov in the throat and tell him what a jerk he is. I have heard reading helps people with their temper ahahahha. I always love Isabel's character the most and her journey with Jerry is so sweet. I still love this book and will read it again for sure.

A good articulate effort from Segal. I loved the connections to the Class and the academic style of writing.

worth It
Got the books as advertised. Used library books - I was expected tears and write ups but it was surprisingly clean. Only reason to complain - shipping was more than the cost of the book. But thats what you pay for when something goes out of circulation.

amazing tome from Mr Segal!
This is definitely an amazing longer fiction of Mr Segal.Prizes is like his 3 early novels packed together for this single volume. But it surpasses the first three works in sheer length, broader scope and greater depth and hyper-dramatic antagonism and passion and so on. As usual, this book has the same old humorous quality as Love Story.Chapter 36 is particularly impressive and heart-rending to reader: there is so much antagonism, anger, personal hatred, pent-up discontent, disappointment and disillusionment that the young couple are ready for their collision course.Falling in love is beautiful as in Love Story, falling in love again as in Oliver's Story is difficult yet still attainable, and having a child is a blessing as in Man, Woman and Child. But what is next in the middle stage of life? Prizes has an answer for this: life is never easy and happiness has to be pursued and maintained and might be sought after again. After all, divorce is more popular than baseball as the author humorously said in the story. All the scientists or better phrased as people of distinctive professions in the novel have their own understanding of what happiness is. Maybe, they have set their eyes on the Nobel prize. But when it comes to what make them feel happy is actually the greatest prize of all: love and family.I am very glad that I did not miss the fun of reading this amazing tome from the beloved Erich Segal.

An absorbing read...
Not the best of Erich Segal (I consider his Acts of faith & The Class as his bests) but definitely worth reading. This is in the same league as Doctors. Makes for an interesting book & offers much insight like most of his novels often do.Although a second hand, the book was as good as new save for a mild yellowness of the pages.
