I was totally turned off by the mostly out of focus photos and set the book aside without trying to make anything before reviewing it. That was a mistake. The way Susan has developed to create these flowers is nothing short of impressive (at least for my limited but growing exposure to crochet books). After having begun to work with two patterns so far, I have totally changed my rating on this book. Certainly the book would benefit from replacing all of the out-of-focus photos with better ones…and a bit more editing would also be helpful…but still, the final products after using this book make it well worth the money spent on purchasing it. I really think that the bad photos are enough to turn off potential buyers, as well as not showing off how wonderful the final flowers actually are. With a bit of refining, I think, this book could cost a bit more and be way more valuable on many fronts. Thanks Susan for these beautiful flower patterns!

This is a very easy book to get directions from. Everything is explained clearly, with plenty of in-process pictures and even links to videos for techniques that are more difficult to explain than to show. The designs I would not consider to be of beginner level if only the print were provided, but with the pictures and the videos, everything is explained clearly enough for beginners to understand. The author is a great teacher, and really has a gift for clearly explaining crochet stitches and techniques. And the flowers are lovely, and my attempts look exactly like the pictures, with absolutely no alterations on my part, an oddity for self-published guides. If you want to crochet flowers, this is the top book I would recommend. I think the bag pattern at the end is almost useless, certainly unnecessary, and is not crocheted. But the rest? True excellence!

I am not happy with the contents of this book, pictures aren't clear, there should be graphs to futher explain the stitches. What the heck was the "attach to first loop on your flower base which splits off from inner sc ring"? I might look for other patterns in Youtube so that I could understand where the writer of this book is coming from.

It was all I needed to make a flower covered pillow! Except the leaves but a very good crochet book!
