Great shampoo, not so sure about conditioner
I was very excited to try this line - i used to love the original Pureology line created by Jim M, until L'Oreal bought it and changed the formula. So Colorproof is his new line. The shampoo was great - for a sulfate free shampoo, actually has very nice lather, great smell and cleans beautifully. But I did not use the conditioner at all. I was surprised to see dimethicone (silicone) listed as the second ingredient - while silicone does a great job conditioning hair and making it look shiny, it can also weigh it down, and the coating can prevent other nutrients from entering the hair. I have thick curly hair and use various hair masques and shot oil treatments often to keep it hydrated - and have been trying to follow the CG method and guidelines for years now (i.e. sulfate free shampoo, silicone free products etc.). Anyway, I called Colorproof to find out if this new generation of sulfate free shampoo does in fact remove dimethicone too - otherwise over time, this Trucurl conditioner is bound to create residue that the Trucurl shampoo can't remove. I did not really get a clear answer, other than they suggest using the detox shampoo once a week to remove any product residues. There are enough great silicone-free conditioning products in the market, that i don't really feel a need to go that route - so i used this shampoo instead with my Jessicurl conditioner, which worked out fine. I would return this conditioner if i could, just because of the silicone issue.

good price
I think this product is way too expensive, but it is half the price here than it is in salons. The conditioner smells awful to me, but the shampoo has a nice sort of flowery smell that sometimes reminds me of fruity bubblegum. The conditioner smell doesn't linger luckily, but I cannot imagine why they don't make it smell as good as the shampoo. Supposedly it is "sulphur-free" and that is why it is so good for hair that has been colored.

It is a great product for keeping the hair tame
This product is for course hair that needs help bringing out the curl. The conditioner can be rinsed out after 3 minutes or longer or can stay in for protection of the hair with outside elements. I partially rinse and leave some conditioner in. It is a great product for keeping the hair tame, healthy looking, and styled. The price is reasonable.

Good for perms, but more for curly hair
I just had a perm, so I thought I tried this. I like it, but I didn't like the smell of the shampoo at first while washing my hair. but after several uses, I don't smell it any more, or either I'm use to it. I also like it that you only need a little of it and give great lathers. It okay for perms, but I think it more for curly hair.

Great products. I have permed hair with 50% gray ...
Great products. I have permed hair with 50% gray and both highlights and lowlights. My hair is very thick and tends to be Big as in swells larger. These products work well to tame that without taking away my curl. I like the smell of both products. It has a floral and melon smell. I would recommend it and will buy again.

Love this product
Love this product. Needed a shampoo I could use in place of Pureology. Has worked out way better than expected. Have a very light wave and it usually falls an hour after my hair dries. Been able to wash and go ( use curl lotion product too) and my wave stays most of the day. Saves me lot of time!
