Ekaminhale Organic Yoga Rug

I have now been using this rug for a couple of weeks and absolutely love it! It arrived nicely packaged in minimal packaging. At first it had a slightly stiffer texture that softened out very well over a couple of weeks, and now is very smooth. Having felt a number of rugs from different companies, this one is by far the nicest texture. There has been some shedding of fibres but this seems normal and is much less now, I imagine in a few weeks there will be none. The plum colour is lovely, and so is the blue, just as they look in pictures. On a standard Manduka mat the rug is about 8 inched longer, so it can overlap the front and the back. Also the company's dedication to ethical and environmental sourcing makes this a really satisfying purchase. I feel like I will have this for a long time and it's great to know that it has been so thoughtfully and kindly manufactured. I really recommend it!

I ordered this rug after seeing others with yoga rugs in my class ... A young woman in class told me that they help build muscle more because you have to grip a little harder then with just a bare mat.. since I am trying to get into better shape I decided to order one.. read a lot of reviews and settled on this one in purple.. it is very tightly woven and absorbant and really very pretty and ads a nice softness to the mat.. no slippage at all which I was a little concerned about before ordering .. I have even gotten compliments on how pretty it is. Very happy with my purchase!

My apartment has standard apartment-style carpet. The beige medium weave that's pretty easy to vacuum & clean, but isn't good for using a standard yoga mat. Too much slip and slide underneath, makes for unstable yoga. I looked on Amazon for 'yoga rug' because why not. And I saw these…The sticker shock got me too, but after thinking about it, decided it was an investment. I was very pleseantly surprised by how well woven this is; this will never be washed with anything but extra-gentle woolite, on the quickest cycle.Just had my first 20-minute yoga session on it, and it was worth the cost. It handles very well on top of carpet, and I know this will see many years of use. Vey impressed, a great quality product.

Beautiful rug, the color is such a deep blue. I love that the rugs are made by artists in India and aren't mass produced. Overall it looks really well made and sturdy. I mainly bought this for Ashtanga practice as well as to use when traveling if I can't bring a mat. Tried it out a few times and initially I found my hands sliding a little. However, once I warmed up and my hands got a little sweaty my grip was great. Plus it added a little extra cushion to my mat underneath.

I was hesitant spending this much on a yoga mat but it has ELEVATED my practice in so many ways. It is just enough grip, it is GORGEOUS and high quality. The natural material is so worth the cost to not be sticking to your mat and it is so comfy and soft for the floor and laying poses. I am 5’7” and have literally never had a mat that is long enough for me — either my feet or head off the mat in certain poses. But this one is actually long enough and I am absolutely obsessed with it. It has actually motivated me to practice yoga more regularly because the aesthetics of it are just that nice!

After 20 years of practicing Yoga and several Yoga mat purchases, this is by far the most earth-friendly, beautiful, and best mat that I have used. No sliding when doing postures, it is of durable weight and super soft. It smells divine and I followed the instructions for first time washing and it turned out lovely! I highly recommend this organic Yoga mat that will last a lifetime if properly cared for. A Yoga product that is truly aligned with the essence of practicing Yoga.

Significantly more money than I wasn’t looking to spend, but this mat is exactly what I was hoping for. I have lapsed from my daily yoga practice. I wanted to create a more inviting yoga experience to get back into my habit.When I lay this rug over my yoga mat on my wood floor my bedroom is transformed into a warm inviting space to practice.Mat is a beautiful color and neither too rough or soft. It doesn’t shift when I’m using it and provides enough grip so I can triangle and warrior without slipping.Wish it was less expensive, however I expect to be using it for many years to come so the price will be ameliorated... eventually.

Love my yoga rug. I use it everyday (at least once). I'm about to purchase a second rug so I have one in the house for morning and evening quick practices and the other in my yoga bag in my car for practices at the studio.I've found the rug has just the right amount of grip, where my cheap mat was a little too sticky and then became slippery when wet. My grip on the rug stays the same through out practice regardless of how much I sweat. It did take a couple practices getting use to the new feel but I think by having to focus on grounding my hands and feet properly for a few practices it actually helped improve my practice as my hands and feet are now properly engaged with the ground and not depending on extra stickiness of a mat.

You can feel the craftsmanship woven into every inch of this rug. I love the sourcing story behind it and the fact that the cotton's organic. I've had other cotton rugs in the past, which soon became too rough and stiff for an ashtanga practice after just a few washes. This is easily the best experience I've ever had on a cotton rug. It's soft and light, sits perfectly over a 71" black mat pro (with room to spare) and makes jumping through and back a much more pleasant experience :) Grip and balance come naturally, but not at the expense of comfort.I've washed mine several times now and it still comes out really soft, retaining its original color and size. I think it will last years, if not decades. It washes well in cold water & a gentle spin, and will usually dry within 24 hours. I have an (almost :) daily Mysore practice, so I sweat into mine lots for about a week before washing it. No unpleasant odors or scuffing on the mat whatsoever... it feels like it's built to last. I got mine in plum; the threading, detail and color really scream quality and look beautiful. Big thanks to Ekaminhale! This mat really takes my practice to the next level.

Great for ashtanga mysore sweaty practice!I bought a plum colour rug and it shredded a lot of cotton fluff even after many washes.The company sales team is very caring - They got in touch straight away and send a replacement rug.The new blue rug is much better quality and only has very little fluff coming off.5* for nice sales team and good quality rug!!

What a beautiful thing! It is fairly thin, but a great length, it is such a lovely colour it is hard to keep it just for yoga! I do not regret spending the quite considerable amount of money on this item, it gives me joy which is just what you need when practising yoga!

Really pleased with this cotton top mat. The colour is great and it has a really nice feel and texture. I also love the fact that its made using both organic cotton and dyes. High recommend.
