Best way to consistently clean your lenses!
I have been using this for almost 2.5 years now and love it. I purchased it because I ended up with a 30 day soft contact lens and was having trouble getting it cleaned, there seemed to be more and more build-up. Not only that, when rinsing in in the palm of my hand and trying to rub off debris with my finger just didn’t seem like the best way to go about handling to lenses. Not sanitary, not consistent. I tried multiple cleaning options before finding this and have never looked back! It cleans on a charge for 2-4 weeks - I just re-charge after two weeks out of habit. Great for traveling! It is suggested that you don’t leave your contacts in the metal lens holder part overnight, and just use this in the morning before you put your lenses in. So I put them into a plastic case and switch in the morning for cleaning. When it’s all done -and you can choose 2 or 5 minute cleaning time- the case gets wiped dry and put away. I have never had any rust and have to say in 2 1/2 years of wiping my case down after using, rust won’t be an issue. It’s also QUIET! My husband went with an updated version where the plastic contact case actually sat inside of a unit similar to this and just asked me to buy him one of these. The other case was so loud it sounded like somebody was running a water pik or electric toothbrush for two minutes! And he didn’t feel like it cleaned his lenses. There may be a newer version of this case, and I would have no issue purchasing another of this style from the seller. 5 stars from me!

unsafe - do not use
This device is unsafe. It should not be incorporated into any person’s contact lens cleaning regimen and / or contact lens conditioning regimen. I was expecting a device that is safe to use at a medical / clinical level. Medical grade stainless steel should never rust. This device rusts if you use it the way the manufacturer says you should use it in their user manual. Consider this incredible Q&A included with the user manual (pictures included): Q: “Why does this product get rusted after being used for a period of time?” A: “Due to the salty of cleaning solution the oxidation aggregates heavily while connecting to the power supply. After use, please remember to take out the cleaning solution and rinse the internal grooves. Meanwhile, please wipe dry the internal grooves as well as the whole machine with a clean cloth.” Rinse the internal grooves and wipe dry the internal grooves as well as every other part of the device? YMMV with the rust-particle contaminated contact lenses you’ll get to stick in your eyes if you use this device. Sterile saline is my salty *rinsing* solution of choice. That comes after using a cleaning solution, which no one wants in their eyes. Any of the solutions you’ll use will have some potential to rust the “internal grooves” in this device, and a lot more. This device is being returned for a full refund because it is unsafe.

Cleans tear proteins well but it rusts and battery fails to recharge after a yr of use
This ultrasound contact lens cleaner cleans the tear proteins really well. I use it to clean the soft lens and scleral lens. The 2-min daily cleaning works well, and the 5-min weekly cleaning also warms up the solution (for some reason). Maybe it cleans better when the solution is warmed up. The lens well is pretty small and shallow, so it doesn't take up too much contact lens solution with the cleaning. If you use it for the hard lens like the scleral lens, be careful because it can scratch the hard lens. So I usually put a soft lens underneath to cushion the hard lens so it won't rub against the metal case that can scratch the hard lens with the vibration. It is costly to scratch the scleral lens. I thought the lens well is tightly sealed with the plastic case but they aren't water-sealed. Eventually, some solutions seep into the inside of the case and started rusting the steel case. You can see the rust stain around the edge of the lens well and the plastic case. There is also a small crack in the plastic case too, where you can see the rusts coming through the crack line. Eventually, I think the leaked saline solution ate up the wiring or the electronics. The battery finally failed to recharge, and the unit went dead after about a year of use. I was disappointed that it died when it cleaned the tear deposits well for my soft lens. But it doesn't clean the tear deposits for the hard lens as well as the soft lens. I had to rub the hard lens to get the tear deposits off, but it doesn't work well even if I tried to rub and rinse it, or ultrasound it multiple times. The only way to get the tear deposits off is to use the Clear Care oxy-clean solution to get the tear proteins off the lens. So there can be improvements to make it better if they use stainless steel or surgical steel that doesn't rust or use plastic completely for the lens well. The case should also be completely water-seal tight to prevent any saline solution seeping into the inside of the wirings or electronics if it were to last. It cleans well for the soft lenses but no so much for the hard lenses. I wish there is something better out there to do a better job than this.

12 volt as well 110.
Disappointed 1st. Ultrasonic cleaner I bought had 5 minute timer The second one I bought only has two minute timer. Doctor wants 5 minutes so have to wait three times to use this machine but it works great for traveling since it's 12 volt as well as 110 That's a good job just hassle having to push so many times and wait

10 out of 10
Best thing I have ever purchased. I struggled with contact buildup from having dogs, daily use and could not find a way to get them clean. My eyes would be irritated and would take me at least 10 minutes to put them on. This product is effective and makes them feel new every time.

Poor battery life
Works well but battery recharge life is short. Once week to start, down to every other day in less than a year. Lid hinge broke. I still use it because the ultrasonic feature is a proven successful technology. I will probably buy another one anyway unless I find a better one.

I wasn't expecting much, I was preparinh myself to be disappointed but, I've been using this regularly and the contacts feel soft, like new. I tried switching back to the solution I was using, just out of curiosity... only to confirm that this device works wonders.

I like the way my contacts feel in my eyes once I have used the Ultrasonic Lens cleaner using regular contact lense solution in its wells. My eyes are less irritated. I use the 2 minute mode daily prior to transferring the contacts to a regular small plastic lens case overnight with a bit of solution in it (about the same amount of solution I would use if I were rinsing the lenses). The difference with ultrasonic cleaner is noticeable in the feel and I can wear my lenses longer in the day with the use of it. After use I dry out the wells of the machine with a square of clean tissue. I have had no problems with it over the few weeks I have been using it.

I used the Ultrasonic Contact Lens Cleaner, and unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. To start, I’m not really sure if it does much of anything. After using it, I didn’t notice any improvement in the quality or comfort of my lenses. In fact, after "cleaning" my lenses, I could still see dirt and debris stuck to them, which was very concerning. The build quality of the device is also subpar. It feels flimsy and not as durable as I would have expected, especially for something that's meant to help care for a delicate item like contact lenses. Overall, I just didn’t feel that it lived up to its promise. In contrast, I would highly recommend using Clear Care solution for deep cleaning your lenses. Just be sure to follow the instructions carefully, as it's not your regular contact lens solution. But in terms of actually cleaning your lenses and providing comfort, it does a much better job than this ultrasonic cleaner. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the Ultrasonic Contact Lens Cleaner. Stick with Clear Care for a more effective and reliable cleaning experience.

The battery doesn’t hold a charge so unit has to be plugged in. The unit does an amazing job at cleaning contacts.
