Love despite problems
I have about 30 of these in both rent houses and my personal house so I know all the good and bad about them. I also constantly try out new models in hope that one day I can find a replacement but have yet to buy anything that compares. I love them despite all the complaints being true. Guests ask me where I bought them. The bottom line is there's nothing like them on the market.-Heat blows out BOTTOM: This is what's best. This is the secret to how awesome they are. Warms tile floor of the bathroom/kitchen-Lots of heat (few actually put out this much heat)-Safe to leave on (pets, toys, crud left in front of them, careless tenants... all safe)-Can heat a whole room-Is a little noisy (think sound of a small fan)-Always runs when on, either high or low (thermostat dial controls at what temp is runs on high setting)-Temp cutoff sensor seems finicky in some of them, I chunk / return them as defective-They usually last about 2-4 years of service before failing or getting weirdness with temp sensor-Putting out that much heat they do eat a bit of electricity (only run one on a breaker too - two will pop a 15A breaker)This thing is so far behind on technology. Nothing digital. No turning itself on and off. It's crudely built. But it works. It works awesomely. Nothing like coming out of the shower to a warm floor and bathroom, or firing up one of these in the bedroom if the gas runs out. Warm air blowing across your feet under your desk. Nothing compares.I keep some unopened in stock and will be sad when they stop making them.

Extreme Test
I have a cargo trailer, mostly seen/used by contractors, (in other words a white alumnium box on wheels). I am doing a conversion in to a camper & so far I have it 85% insulated. The trailer is 8 ft wide x 20 ft long x 8 ft tall. I have a vent in the ceiling that is 14 inches x 14 inches that stays open year round for ventalation. It is all wood surfaces (no carpet).Setting the scene: Today is cloudy & snowing with a slight breeze. The following information is +/- 2 degrees (which is typical of any thermometer). At 10:45 this morning (24-hour clock time), it was 39 degrees outside & 40 inside the trailer when I plugged it in. I had it set for the highest heat setting (this heater was the only source of heat).10:45 39 outside 40 inside.12:00 40 outside 49 inside.13:45 34 outside 55 inside.15:15 32 outside 57 inside. One thing that I saw as a possibilty for the quicker increase is that the heat comes out of the bottom & rises. The top of the heater sucks in some of that warm air in as it rises & thus actually blows warmer air out. When I went out to the trailer at 12:00 I noticed a "slight" odor (remember it is on the highest setting possible & it is brand new).As for the noise, for you, loud might be a freight train running thru the house while a dripping faucet might be someone elses definition of loud. Here is my take: to me it sounds quieter than that of a microwave. For me, the noise level is really good & not that annoying (but that was while it was on a hard surface) & on a carpeted surface, the noise level decreased (in a large open area). The noise level may be increased slightly while it is under a desk since the noise ricochets off of the surrounding hard surfaces. The product rattles when it is moved around. That is the knock over heat sensor/proctor. I purposefully turned it on laid it on one side, stood it up & laid it on another side (I did this for all 4 sides & upside down) & the heater turned off each time. (I would suggest you do the same to make sure this safety feature is working on your heater properly.)The heater stays really cool to the touch & the cord did not warm up at all.As for the life expectancy of the unit is unknown at this time but I am sure it varies from unit to unit...if you run yours on high 24/7 while someone else uses low for a few hours each day (excluding possible manufacture defects).I would recommend this product & I hope the above information is helpful in your decision making.

great little sturdy, not fancy, heater... reasonably priced and never had a problem.
Ive had mine for many years and just bought another. Its not very noisy. The heat comes from the bottom and will heat a room if you place it high on something, but near where you might be. On the floor works great for cold feet, and eventually the room. Its sturdy and have not had a problem.

Love the retro industrial style
Well made heater, heat flows from the bottom, fan blows constant while the thermostat kicks heat on and off as it's needed.Cool touch sides, fits nicely against the wall in our small bathroom where we previously had a wall mounted heater that broke last year after only 4 months.Fairly quiet fan, much quieter than our old one. Hopefully it lasts longer than the other kind of forced-air-heat one we had.Tip-over shut-off works, I just used my hand to test it.I would recommend this heater to those who need a small space heater, great for bedrooms, wash/bathrooms, small dens, sunrooms with poor insulation in the winter (just don't leave it exposed to the elements or too much shower steam)
