great price for a simple modern 1080p monitor with a quality IPS panel
This monitor is great, and it's great as a secondary monitor. It doesn't look bad next to an expensive screen. If you're looking for an additional screen under 27" good luck. Retailers are full of 22-24" 1080p monitors which look the same as the ones that came with an HP/Dell desktop in 2007. Most have huge bezels. Most have a single HDMI plug. Most have a power brick. And many of them don't even have HDCP so you can't watch Netflix on them. This monitor has a 100 mm VESA bolt pattern so you can put it on any arm. It takes a regular power plug — no power brick. It has HDCP. It's a good IPS panel. Black looks dark. There's slightly less light bleed than my more expensive LG screens. It has slightly smaller bezels than my other screens. And it has two HDMI inputs, so it's easy for me to use as an additional monitor for both my home machine and work laptop. The menus are easy to use and you can even setup shortcuts to put your three most-used adjustments on the first menu level. The speakers are worse than most — which is quite the feat when you think of how bad built-in monitor speakers are — but I don't care about that. The only slight annoyance I have is that you can't dim the light on the power button. But it's on the bottom edge of the screen, so it's easy to put a little piece of black tape over it. Of course that partially blocks those awesome speakers LOL. This monitor is a 21.5" 1920x1080 panel, so that's 102.5 dpi/ppi (pixels per inch). The bigger you go the worse it'll look next to a monitor with higher resolution. My other two monitors are a 38" 3840x1600 LG ultrawide (109.5 dpi) and a 25" 2560x1080 LG ultrawide (111.1 dpi). 21.5" BenQ GW2283 — sqrt(1920^2 + 1080^2) / 21.5 = 102.5 dpi 25" LG 25UM58 — sqrt(2560^2 + 1080^2) / 25 = 111.1 dpi 38" LG 38WN75C — sqrt(3840^2 + 1600^2) / 38 = 109.5 dpi The 25" LG 25UM58 is also a good deal. It currently costs 50% more than the BenQ for 33% more resolution. It's 75 hz, but I think the BenQ might actually have a better response time if you're gaming on it. And the 25" LG has a 75 mm VESA bolt pattern and a power brick.

Very good monitor!
Excellent monitor at an excellent price. I spent 55 years as a professional commercial photographer and I’m particular anbout monitors. Although this isn’t as good as a $3000 monitor it’s a great monitor at an excellent price. It’s easy to setup and color is quite good. Custom calibration is easy to do as well.

Weak Audio
This monitor has built in speakers but the audio level is low. I had to adjust the audio level on the monitor and the Raspberry Pi to maximum to get a comfortable listening level. The monitor has an audio output jack. I connected a pair of USB powered speakers to the audio jack. Now it works much better. Now I keep the audio settings lower and have more than enough audio volume. The monitor came with an HDMI cable but it don't work. The Raspberry Pi computer uses a Micro to HDMI cable. Micro plug on one end and regular plug on the other end. I ordered a new cable from Adafruit. The instructions that came with the monitor show how to mount the monitor to the stand, but wasn't clear on how to use the on screen menu using the buttons on the bottom right side of the monitor. I might have figured it out myself, but went to their web site. (Support.BenQ.com) I'm satisfied though. Picture quality is excellent.

Pleased with my choice
Although I hadn't heard of this brand, I selected this monitor for the description and the affordable price. It wasn't hard for this VERY non-techie senior to hook up. Actually, I got more help by reading the first review than I did from the Quick Start Guide. I was confused as to why a cable with a blue plug (sub-D?) was provided, when there is no place to plug it into my computer, instead of a hdml cable. Otherwise it was easy to do and everything fits neatly without a mess of visible cables. The stand is sturdy. The picture quality and color is lovely. I haven't tried any games yet but I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully it provides the eye care as claimed.

One of the Best!
Two brands are considered equally as manufacturers of the best screens for photo and video: Eizo and Benq. When my father-in-law's old screen malfunctioned, I began to look at the price of a similar screen from Eizo. However, the price was too high for regular office use. So, I turned to Benq and found this screen, which arrived in record time. It was functional almost immediately after installation, with a slight tendency to lean towards yellow. However, it's common for screens from all manufacturers to exhibit some bias towards a specific color. Despite this, the screen is smooth and very pleasant, and it will fulfill its function perfectly. The IPS panel and the matte screen are additional advantages.

Excellent Display! Great Seller!
I've recommended and bought these monitors for years! I've always been impressed with the look and feel. At such a low price point it's a bargain and my customers have nothing but praise for them. Shipping was fast and came in excellent condition considering the Christmas holiday rush! Will buy again.

Good quality; missing some features
The monitor is overall great, but for the price there could be a few more changes or features. Setting up the monitor is a breeze and I love how they include a HDMI cable in the box and the two ports they provide. The size is perfect for my desk and it's not too heavy for when you need to move it. I don't like how it takes the monitor around 20 or so seconds to switch to an input. Ex: You plug in your laptop and you have to wait 15 seconds for anything to show up. It's also not too great for gaming the glare is hideous and the monitor lacks some basic features like auto-off or a GOOD brightness selector. However, it works with pretty much everything HDMI with the included cable and a USB-C to HDMI converter you can plug in MacBooks.

Solid monitor, looks good, VESA mount
This review is for the BenQ GW2283 1080P IPS 21.5" monitor. As others have noted, the speakers aren’t anything to write home about, but the monitor is solid, you can configure it to not switch automatically, and it has three programmable buttons to perform common tasks. Also has VESA mounting that isn’t used or blocked by the desk stand so easy to use for a self-contained all-in-one system (what I did with an Intel Nuc). The stand also hides and organizes the cabling. No dead or stuck pixels yet either. Comes with a standard VGA cable. Mine did not come with an HDMI cable but I had spares.

Seller responded to issue
The items did not meet expectations as sounds could barely be heard through the speakers, even when all settings were set to maximum volume. The seller responded to my request for refund on the second time I attempted contact , so I am glad the issue was resolved.

Great monitor for a pretty good price!
Works as advertised, and I'm enjoying the thin border/bezel around monitor. Not something I knew I wanted. Also found out the monitors have speakers, though not spectacular sound quality, but I don't use them anyway. If I want good sound I just use headphones.

Get it while stocks are available - it is value for money and brilliant for all use cases
Stunning performance and picture quality. I play some older games like Doom 2016 and Serious Sam along with Fortnite. I am not an avid gamer and I couldn't care less about ultra fast MS response... what matters to me is the colour production and the reduced glare. While we are all WFH I am more comfortable on this monitor than my UHD laptop display. My only minor complaint is that the cable manager cover is not as "tight" and snug as it should be ... it slides off very easily.
