I love this product
I just purchased IRobot 790. This is the coolest thing ever. I have a large home and it just goes around and sweeps. I have alot of tile flooring so it really is nice to have 'Rosie' vacuum up the dust and cat hair. I am so impressed with this machine. I love that it will vacuum under my couch & chairs. You have to watch it a few times so you may identify any problem areas for iRobot such has loose wires, etc. I will move things around a little so Rosie can clean. Set her up for success. She fluffs my carpet and it looks like I have vacuumed each day, but Rosie did it. iRobot maintains the cleaning for you so you don't have to vacuum as often. I use Rosie daily. Heck, I paid for it and I am going to use it! It is a wonderful product. It is easy to operate and empty out the debris. I find that it does hold plenty of debris. Rosie has no problem going from shag carpet to tile and vice versa. And she is smart where she can back out of areas. Update: 12/13/13. I am still happy with this vacuum. It is easy to set up and schedule. Rosie vacuums daily. I empty the debris bin every few days. I find it amazing all the debris that gets picked up. And iRobot vacuums under the beds! Yeah! Still loving it.

best decision ever
Best purchase I've ever made! Cleans under my king size bed. Turns on by itself and docks itself when finished. Picks up everything. I have two cats and one has long hair. The first couple of pass overs I had to clean out the small compartment several times. However, now it can do the whole floor with no need to empty till it's done. I love it. Came home the other day and I forgot it's pre-programmed; my whole living room/dining area was done. Poor little Roomba was dead in the middle of my floor but A) the whole downstairs was done and B) the compartment was barely full. I couldn't be happier:) Yes, it requires some maintenance but I personally don't think it's too difficult to empty the bin after its done an hour of vacuuming for me. I do clean the brushes after 2 or three cycles and it's pretty easy. Five minutes of maintenence for something that does all the work for me (while I'm doing something else) is amazing.

It's good.
It is amazing how much dust and tiny debris that collects on the floor in just a day. This little device works great at picking most of it up. I haven't noticed it get stuck anywhere at all even with a dining room table and 6 chairs. It navigates it's way in and then eventually makes it out. It's a little annoying for me to watch it go in completely random paths and sometimes over the same areas repeatedly. But that's something easily fixed by not watching it. The virtual walls don't always work and I've had it jump past where it was supposed to go and get some sort of long ribbon/string type thing wrapped around it's wheels which immobilized it. Also, you will need to sort of "pre-clean" before it's scheduled runs. Basically pick up anything that can get wrapped up in it's wheels and make sure it has a somewhat decent path to pick up the dirt and dust. These things are pretty expensive and the software driving it could be a ton better. But it does a pretty decent job and keeping the floor clean and actually helping air quality by removing dust daily that might get tossed back up into the air. I bought this on a Gold Box Deal. So it was slightly less expensive. But I am happy with the purchase after using it for a month or so.

Hard working maid
Good product, I would have made it 5 stars but... This is the first iRobot Roomba I've ever owned, so not sure if it is doing as intended or not. Cleans a room, that's for sure. And where I was concerned it would find a cord and chew it up like a regular vacuum, that hasn't happened...I do know that emptying the bin, it is pulling up dust and other things. What I don't like, it's a robot and I would think there would be memory and logic (which would explain the high cost) but it apparently has neither logic or memory. The roomba gets stuck in the same place every time and even though we blocked the small space, it is pushing the block in until it gets jammed again. The virtual wall/towers either don't work or the roomba has no clue what they mean. I placed a "tower" next to the door to the master bedroom so it knew how to get out and come back, sometimes it will leave the room and sometimes it won't. I can also put the roomba within line of sight of the docking station and tell it to dock, but it will travel all over the room until the battery is dead searching for it. What it does, it does very well...it seems to be confused about everything else. Cleaning the brushes is a breeze, but I'm not sure what will happen when we reintroduce a Golden to our home.

WARRANTY of no value
Broke after 3 months of use@ 3 daily cleanings per week. So the only thing I can conclude is these are cheaply built, but not cheaply priced Chinese ripoffs (e.g. made in China). I had attempted to diagnose as per website, all tests indicated to return for warranty repair. So call for warranty repair, but want you to do the same as you had done with them on phone; impossible only time they are open is when at work. Explained situation and still same robot replies, even managers have canned speeches. So I guess it the garbage can for this piece of JUNK, since their warranty isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
