DESIGNERS FOUNTAIN97311-WSD Austin Semi-Flush Weathered Saddle, Brown

I do like the styling, it came on time, was well packed and in perfect order. And Amazon offered it for $10-20 less that everyone else and of course free shipping with Prime. But I have to give it 3 stars for the following reasons.As you can see by the photograph it looks like it is dark-colored iron, black to be exact, with "goldish-looking" trim. It is shown on several websites and on all of them it looks black. It is not. It is rust-colored, not black. The trim is gold. The finish on the trim pieces is hammered. The little hooks that hold the rim onto the frame are black but the frame and the base of the lamp are most definitely an orangy-rust colored crackle finish. Nowhere in the description does it mention the orange/rust colored finish and when you zoom into any of the photos of it you see that is is a black overlay finish. The lamp I received most definitely is not.The glass for the lamp does not look as textured as it does in the photograph and in fact I think the actual glass is better than the picture. So if the glass is putting you off the actual shade has the lightly textured finish on the inside and is very subtle. I like it better.Bottom line, I do not know if I am going to keep it. We bought it because it showed as a dark finish. I am an artist though. Dare I take things into my own hands?

This light is everything my wife and I wished it would be and more. The packages came well packed and in a timely fashion. In fact they came sooner than expected. When I opened the package I was amazed at the quality and the look of the light. I half expected the frame to be made of a cheap plastic that looked like metal but to my surprise the frame was made of metal. It has the look of old metal work with riveted hardware. While not actually riveted it looks great. The opaque glass shade is beautiful and lets plenty of light to shine through. The light uses (3) 60 watt bulbs which provides tons of light. My wife and I joke that it is so bright that it is the neighborhood shining beacon. We decided to go with only (2) bulbs due to the brightness.We are immensely please with this product.

This fixture was exactly what I hoped to find, and did not disappoint. It’s well made, looks great, and as a bonus, it’s easy to remove the globe to clean it.

Fast shipping, I read all kinds of reviews on different sites--finally decided to pull the trigger. We ended up spray painting these black--we bought the pendant lights too..the color it came in was sort of brown/rust with gold...just not into the gold. Love how it turned out-goes great in our home. Price was right too.

Beautiful, easy to install, size as advertised, but does not put out as much light as expected..

Typical Chinese hardware that doesn't work as shown, I had to cut the mounting screws so it would sit flush on the ceiling. The arm fasteners are too short also, only a few threads catch into the main shaft. This light looks much larger in the picture. Should have been about half the price.

Color is not well represented in the picture but it favored my decor. It is more of a rust/brown color. It is nicer looking than I thought it would be and gives off more light than i expected. I used 3 25watt bulbs and it was more than bright enough. It would go well with a dimmer.

Of somewhat poor quality - in the photo it looks aged but in real life, the finish is not all that similar to the photo.
