Battlefield 2142 from DICE and Electronic Arts - Dominate the competition with 68 labeled game specific keys clustered around a central butterfly directional layout. Uniquely colored labels help identify various sets of in game key commands including Commander Mode and Vehicle Controls. Official game assets right at your fingertips immerse you into the action. Get a competitive advantage with one touch Prima Guide and Team Speak keys. Review: BF 2142 Keyset - AWSOME! - This keyset/board makes the game. If you have been playing with standard keyboard, you haven't played yet. There will be a learning curve when you switch over to the Zboard keyset, but the pain of learning the keyset is worth it. You can personalize the keys to your liking if you don't like the default settings and that is a plus. Has made the game a breeze now. You will need to purchase the Zboard base but it is also worth the trouble. Review: THIS KEYSET IS NOT SUPPORTED!!!!! - dont get suckered into it just yet, ive had mine for over a week and its still usless, zboard hasnt even updated their software yet, this board does not get recognized with the current sofwtare, its useless. unless you see new drivers with a date other than aug 12 on the zboard site do not buy. wait for them to update drivers unless you want a paperweight

May not be what you want
While the keyset is probably exactly what you are looking for, you should be aware that this is NOT a keyboard. It is a keyboard cover for a specific Zboard keyboard. The pictures were not adequate for me to initially make this decision. I had to return this item or purchase the $30 keyboard as well. If this is not what you are looking for, you might be interested instead in a FangPad or CyberSnipa USB plug in. I ended up returning this and getting the CyberSnipa USB (V1, there is a V2 with more keys) Keypad which required no overlay and was $22 for the entire setup.

It works now... but is it worth it?
This is a custom keyset for the Zboard base, which is sold separately. Many people have been having problems with this keyset not being recognized by the Zboard software. I have read that this is causing stores to pull this keyset off the shelves, making it hard to find. Ideazon now has updated the ZEngine to version 22033NA, which supports this keyset. The price here on Amazon is better than just about any place I've seen it for sale. HOWEVER, it's not perfect -- I had 22033NA installed and it didn't know what to do with this keyset. I had to uninstall the ZEngine (I didn't have any custom mods to any keysets - be sure to save them before you uninstall), hooked up the standard gaming keyset and reinstalled 22033NA. Then when I inserted this Battlefield 2142 keyset into the base, the ZEngine recognized it - it works fine and it's totally mappable. The question is: Is it worth the trouble? This keyset has two problems that I can see. First, the button layout is identical to the default gaming keyset that comes with the base and is totally mappable. So you are buying the 2142 keyset mainly for the game-specific labeled buttons and the looks. But this brings up the second problem: The labels for the vehicle commands are in a very hard to read blue letters with a black haze behind them. This color scheme makes reading these commands next to impossible at quick glances! If you are creating a Battlefield 2142 specific gaming station with Logictec's special 2142 mouse, this keyset would look perfect with it. I would guess not many people are doing that and would probably be better served with mapping the Zboard's default gaming keyset and learning the button placement.

Works great
I had the keyboard for bf2 as well as a few others. As for if its worth it, thats up to you. I dont think 17$ is all that much. Yes you can remap the standard keyset but, I'm lazy and I like the labeled keys. There are only 4 keys with blue lettering on them and while I agree they are a bit hard to read there is a big white arrow on the keys which I think works fine. As for poster 1, there is a patch available to make this work now.

Amazon are morons
Twice you failed to ship me this product! You sent me a 6 foor IEEE 9pin cable instead of what I ordered. Perhaps you should hire people at your packaging centers that KNOW WHAT THEIR SHIPPING. I won't be spending my money at Amazon after this fiasco.
