I only discovered BR Kingsolver during the pandemic and have gobbled up most of her work.Chameleon Assassin Series is a rollicking good read and at number 5 Diamonds & Blood is as good as the others.Libby and Nellie are in Montreal while Nellie gets more famous - and Libby gets into more trouble than you can poke a stick at.Diamonds - both real and questionable - alongside beautiful art and jewellery all end up as part of this books mystery. Blood aplenty too.Starting with a murder (death by spear) and ending with a victory for Libby, D&B has it all.I love Libby as a character and her upstanding but somewhat bewildered lover, Will.Nellie (really a third major character given her prominence in Libby’s life), Tom, Jason and Libby’s Mum are all super strong secondary characters who circle around Libby and make for interesting times.The mob, the mutants, the vampires and a bunch of other criminals feature in this story.While I think book number 4 is my fave, B&D is still a great read.Do yourself a favour and don’t skip any steps - start at book 1. Then go find her other series and enjoy them too!

As soon as I read the 1st book I immediately bought the next 4 books and read straight through this series. A little bit of Mercy and Adam, some Jack Reacher, James Bond,maybe some Inspector Gamache, Herald Mags and friends but put together to form a new and exciting world with lots of interesting people. But, I was disappointed that there wasn't more stories right now. I can only hope there will be MORE! Thank you B R Kingsolver for your stories.

That said, this story was so fantastic that I purchased my own copy as well (supporting good work and the authors who write said work is worth it in my opinion).Libby and her cracking crew are back, but far from home in Montreal on Nellie's musical tour in this new installment of the Chameleon Assassin series, "Diamonds and Blood." Libby, being the enterprising young woman she is decides to use her time outside her usual Toronto stomping grounds to exercise her more unique skills... and settle a small score. However, right from the get go things go a bit sideways for our heroine while she's out trying to see to that score's settlement. Always quick on her feet Libby manages to extricate herself from that unfortunate spot with little fuss. However, she soon finds herself embroiled in the high intensity investigation of the same situation she just managed to disentangle herself from when she agrees to help her beau, Wilbur Wilberforce, the Director of Security for the North American Chamber of Commerce, look into the crime.I won't spoil what happens next, but BR Kingsolver weaves yet another deft story full of unexpected twists and turns that had me reading for hours on end. I honestly could not put this book down, and I don't think you will be able to either.Buy this book; you won't regret it.

Our intrepid heroin gets involved in a case where she’ll be introduced to not only new world kinks (to be fair, she knew about them beforehand), a convoluted scheme involving a mob connection and a diamond dealer, an artist with jewelry and a long forgotten marriage.In the end blood has been spilled, the mob has been upset, but other families gets ahead and the mystery gets solved...then there’s the family angle going through the whole story right up to the last pages...and Nellie catches a big break as well. What more could one say...oh yeah, sisters aren’t always family...or treat each other nicely.

I certainly hope this is not the last we will see of Libby and her friends. This series has been a great ride from book one through this book, and I am begging you, dear Author, to continue the series. Just after you write more books in the Rosie O’Grady series and the Dark Streets series. Until then, I’ll content myself with ether series I haven’t yet sampled.I can definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a good story with a hero who sometimes plays for the villains, but always with her heart in the right place.

You've got to admit that there is a delicious irony to having a professional assassin solve murders. This lady (the author, not the character) is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. This series is very close to being as good as her succubus series. I can't wait to see what she does next.

I started this series from a link on Facebook and am so glad I did. I think Libby is a great character, like all the series the story is great and the supporting characters of Wil, Nellie and Libby’s mother and father are really interesting. I hope there is going to be another book.

Elizabeth Nelson is a unique and interesting character. Each of the stories is well developed and written, with twists that kept me interested to the point of being unwilling to put the books down . Diamonds and Blood is a rely good mix of mystery, sci-fi, and romance. It has enough steam to be interesting without being graphic. It is a good read. I rate it four stars only because I reserve five stars for truly great literature.

I have been really really enjoying this series. Strong female lead who is well developed and not morally perfect with a variety of twists and a diverse set of characters ans interesting plot. I also find the setting of earth 200 years post- apocalypse interesting and well thought out. Would highly recommend the whole series but would definitely suggest starting from the beginning.

What can I say? I am a Kingsolver fan and this series is right up there. If you try it and are disappointed, go read Tolstoy or Dickens...

I’ve really enjoyed this series & hope that there are more books to come. The blend of assassin & thief/murderer catcher is intriguing, bringing the idea that it takes a thief to catch one, to life. These books are all well written, flow well & hold your attention easily with quite a few twists & turns. Hope the next series I read holds up to this one

If you like a strong kick ass heroine, you will love this series. Also refreshing to have mutant characters minus the reverse harem aspect. The clever unravelling of the criminal plot kept you guessing all the way till the end. Highly recommend, fun and entertaining read.

Another gripping book with lots of openings for the main characters to develop further in future books in the series. Looking forward to the next instalment.
