Works as described.
What fun experimenting with stencils and other designs to remove the color from fabric! Do some testing since not all fabrics react the same. On some, the color entirely disappeared and on others, it simply lightened to a brownish hue. Be sure to do this in an open space such as a patio or garage. Definitely not in your house since the smell is unpleasant and strong.

Effective Dye Remover for Clothes
This decolorant paste worked really well for removing unwanted dye from my clothes. It was easy to apply and helped lift the color without damaging the fabric. The instructions were simple to follow, and I was impressed with how much it improved the clothing’s appearance. A very useful product if you need to correct dye mistakes or refresh faded garments.

Awesome product
This color remover works really well! I like that you can wash it off if you don't like the placement of the paste. A little bit goes a long way so I expect this jar to last a long time for me. It's super easy to use and great for stenciling. The only con is that it stinks, but every color remover I have used also smells so that's expected. Overall pleased with this!

Easy to use
Made a Christmas gift with this. Loved it! It does take 24+ hours to dry though. Don’t move your project until it dries!

Delicate product, removes colors but it depends on the fabric.
My expectations were low for this product but it (almost) did the job. I started with a new long sleeve knit tee shirt with a white silkscreened print on each side. The shirt looked too “new” so i wanted to try some reverse dying/bleaching. I started by pouring a half gallon of bleach straight onto the shirt to remove all the color. Of course i ended up with blotchy, copper red result. To even out my bad bleach technique, i wet the shirt in water, made a hot bath w 1 gal of bleach (excessive perhaps but i wanted fast, potent results). I left the shirt in the bath overnight and was happy to see the blotches had evened out to a consistent copper red tone. The shirt turned red bc red is the base tone used in the fabric. I wanted the end result to look like a black shirt that had been worn for 50 years (the print design was a throwback to the US moon landing so i wanted it to look believable). I planned to overdye the shirt with blue RIT to counter the copper tones but changed my mind after discovering DeColorant. When it arrived I realized there wasnt enough product to deeply saturate the shirt so i had to dilute it very slightly with cold water. I worked the mix into the fabric, ensuring it was evenly distributed. I then laid the shirt outside to dry overnight. I HIGHLY recommend working outdoors, wearing gloves and a mask bc the chemicals I used are extremely caustic, staining and stink. The DeColorant just stinks, however. The next day, i laid out a canvas drop cloth, set my iron on High and slowly ironed the shirt in sections until i achieved the level of “color lift” i wanted (maximum lift in my case took on a faded lemon yellow color, not white). What i liked about this process was the ability to control how much lift you want by how long and hard you press the iron into the fabric. Perfect for someone looking for a vintage effect. While the shirt was still not white, the yellow was a good base for the next step. I made a hot RIT dye bath with black dye (i know, it sounds counterproductive). I submerged the shirt, ensuring even distribution and removed it after 1-2 minutes in the bath, waiting until i achieved the level of “faded black” i wanted. Im about to wash the shirt now and will post photos after. I ended up requesting a refund for the DeColorant bc the seller did not create a full description here nor did they post clear photos of the entire product label which state that not all colors can be removed. It’s expensive and not for every project, but it may be great for yours.

Craft safely
Works as advertised. Some pigments lift easier than others. Smells awful. Wear a respirator when using this product.

Even if you can get past the smell it disappoints on many levels
Smells horrible, similar to hair remover. Smell gets really strong when heated and made nose burn even while using next to open window. Product will be go beyond area you wish to remove color from as dry untreated fabric seems to pull it. I used a vinyl stencil that was strongly adhered but the color spread from the underside and created a shadow around the treated area. You have to make sure it's completely dry before ironing so you cannot dictate the amount of color you want to remove. I was hoping for a vintage look but it took a long time for solution to dry and turned red t shirt blotchy yellow where applied. If you buy make sure you test on fabric first and use outside or wear a mask. I had high hopes for this product with many project ideas in mind but it left me disappointed with a ruined shirt. It is not a paste, it is milky and runny.

This product is a really good pre-mixed option! Because I've used a similar product to this, I was well aware and prepared of its smell... it is very off putting but it works great at removing the dye from fabrics! As a recommendation, use in a well ventilated area (open a window or in the garage) or go outside if possible! The smell also gets worse when ironing it (protect your fabric and iron by putting a piece of parchment paper when ironing it).

I was skeptical whether this would work. I have a white 100% cotton dress that has blue dye stains on it. I painted this onto the stains, waited for it to dry and then ran a hot iron over it for a few minutes and the dye stains have vanished! Do be wary though that is removes all colour so if removing stains the item must be completely white and also it won’t work on anything that isn’t 100% natural fibre like cotton or silk.

ok all the other reviews about the smell were spot on. However thankfully not much worse than when you walk past a Perming hair salon. definately work outside or Ventilated area. Result on a Black Tshirt is good..Althongh MUST WASH a brand new shirt BEFORE u use this product. I applied product and left it outside on a hot day and it decolorized beautifully. (although not perfect white but to an off-whiteish color which is fine for what i needed to do with it. (tie dyed with Fushia ) I rinsed my shirt THROUGHLY and then washed it afew time too! I was being extra cautious incase the funky aroma hung around. I was quite pleased with final results visual and nasal haha UPDATE: Oct 18 2023 just purchased my SECOND TUB

I'm in love with this stuff. So easy to use and the results are next level! Unlike bleach this you can wash off any errors made before ironing the dried paste. Once the heat touches the dried paste it eliminates the colour and leaves a nice cream/white colour. Perfect for reverse dyeing tie dyes!
