VandorenCM3188 M30 Profile 88 Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece

I double on clarinet in a big band. I use a LeBlanc double L and a B45*. I tried the M30 on the recommendation of my clarinet repairman. The M30 is a less bright, but more expressive and has richer tone. The lay seems to be wider and most of my squeaks and sqwaks are in the past. I needed to up the reed strength to a 3 - 3 1/2. When the band gets back into playing gigs I'll know if holds up, but for now, it is a pleasure to play the horn with this mouthpiece. I use a dark Rovner ligature and Gonzalez reeds.

It's a second one we bought so far. My son's the one who plays clarinet, and he needed a second set of mouthpiece and ligature since he's been taking one set back and forth between his "school band" clarinet and performance clarinet. We've tested several others to see if they sound better but my son still produced comfortable and warm sound with M30 so it's a second one. It's a great mouthpiece which produces warm, full sounds. It sounds good on Yamaha YCL 255 and sound awesome with Buffet R13 and Buffet Vintage A clarinet. It's the winner!

Item shipped and arrived promptly. Love this mouthpiece. I've recently picked up clarinet again after many years away. Have been renting a Selmer and using a stock mouthpiece. Put the M30 on and it is soooooooo much easier to play, the tone is more complete/rich and I can cross the break and play the clarion range much easier. My A, A-flat and B-flat sound so much better as well. Still working on my embouchure (only playing for past 3 months) but I can only imagine that as it improves my sound with this mouthpiece will be even better.

This is a very well designed mouthpiece. Just be sure to put plenty of mouthpiece in the mouth while playing, due to the long facing. The nice thing about this mouthpiece is it works very well with Legere synthetic reeds. I actually find it plays better with my Legere signature 3,5 than cane reeds.

Vandoren makes many mouthpieces for the clarinet. ... I have several. I decided to purchase a mouthpiece that was a little more open than the 5RV that I have. The sound is clear and pure. I've had more success with a 3 reed. The sound is round are easy to play. Great choice.

This mouthpiece really elevates your sound and playing. I also feel that my articulation improves when playing on this mouthpiece. 80 dollars may seem like a lot for just a mouthpiece, but it is worth the price.

This is my daughter’s Christmas wish list. She needed to upgrade on her clarinet for her next winter concert. I just wish its more affordable since i still have to buy matching ligature with it.

4 stars only because it takes a bit of adjusting. I still squeak because the shape of the mouthpiece is a bit different so, reed placement and how it works for you is a bit of an experiment.But, the tone is outstanding. Warm and amazing.

Having never owned a proper mouthpiece before, this was a recommendation by many clarinetist I know. It projects very well and feels very comfortable, however it takes a lot of getting used to.
