Draw-Tite 20191 I-Stop IQ Electronic Brake Control , Silver

This is a great brake controller for a good price. It is identical to the Tekonsha Primus IQ Electronic Brake Control. I had to call the manufacturer and they told me that both brand are manufactured identically. The only problem I had with this controller is, it's too good. I got a code that there was a short with this controller but when I borrowed a Tekonsha it didn't read a short. I took my truck and trailer in and it turns out one of the brakes on my trailer was bad and it would drag at times. The Draw-Tite would read that as a short because it is more sensitive than the other controller. This is a good thing because now I know and my brakes are fixed.I bought the wire harness for my truck so I didn't have to splice any wires. With the wire harness instillation was a breeze. I drilled two holes under my dashboard and just plugged everything in. I watched a video explaining that there is a fuse opening in the fuse box, of my Chevy, that a 40 amp fuse needed to be added to. I did that and everything worked great, but I haven't tried it without the fuse so I don't know if that's required.

As noted in other reviews, this is identical to a Tekonsha Primus IQ. Not a knock-off, but literally a rebadged Tekonsha... the label on the back even says so. And it's about $10 cheaper than the 'real' Tekonsha, so why not?If you do a little research, virtually everyone out there recomends the Tekonsha Prodigy series brake controllers. This one has the exact same proportional technology as the Prodigies (including the excellent P3) but lacks the capabilities for multiple trailer profiles, special features for very heavy, multi-axle trailers, etc. If you're like me and have a small single axle trailer, you don't need any of that anyway.This mounted easily under our van's dash, and was plug and play thanks to a (separately purchased) adapter which plugged right into our van. If your vehicle doesn't have said adapter, you're in for a lot more work, but the instructions seemed clearly written, and that's going to be true of any other brake controller as well.

I loved getting the bracket with the easy detach unit. During the Looong non-camping season in WI, Oct-May, it will be nice to put the unit in the glove box instead of having to stare at it while driving. Unit works great on first tow.

Just like all the other reviews, this controller is awesome. I installed mine under dash where you can still adjust the controls and the display is visible, but the unit is out of sight. I’m very happy so far.

I installed this trailer brake controller on my 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 (Classic). This controller was easy to install once I bought the quick connect wiring harness that's sold separately by Tekonsha (I used harness #3015-P for my truck). This harness eliminates the need to splice any wires together and it keeps the install quick and clean! The programming/set-up was a piece of cake and the controller works great! This controller is actually made by Tekonsha and it's marked Tekonsha Primus IQ on the rear of the brake controller (Labeled Draw-Tite on front). This is a good thing in my opinion as the Tekonsha Primus IQ is priced at $85 where this controller was purchased for under $60.

What's to say? Works well. No issues.This really is just a rebadged Tekonsha unit at a (approximately) twenty dollar savings. I bought the Tekonsha wiring harness to pair this to my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I like it better than my other Tekonsha (don't know the model). This one is easier to adjust to the right level for my trailer and has an actual digital readout instead of just glowing LEDs. And you almost certainly want a "proportional" brake controller (like this one). Don't bother with one of the cheapie non-proportional units if you plans to tow anything more than 1500 pounds or so.

This is the brake controller you are looking for. Very good installation instructions, that were easy to follow. I just wish that they included the 30A resettable fuse and Scotchlok wiring connector to make installation even easier.
