unrefined design, not great for a Lenovo ThinkPad, but definitely does its job
I am offering this extensive review in exchange for the USB-C multi-port adapter device being reviewed. While I am receiving the device in exchange, I am not biasing the review for a freebie - let the facts speak for themselves.Initial impression: the generic packaging is nice, and the device comes in an unbranded, low-profile black box, with the device nested inside in a form-fitting layer of hi-density black foam. The finish of the device is unrefined, which I found surprising, as it's clearly catering to an Apple crowd in terms of the darker-hued silver-gray aluminum finish. The outside surface feels like a fine grit sandpaper, and is not nearly as smooth as the aluminum of an actual MacBook. The transitions from top and bottom to sides are similarly unrefined, with an almost sharp, machined 90-degree edge, and did not have the rounding or smoothing one would expect in a more premium design. The device is designed to attach flush to the side of the laptop, and does not have a cable that would allow it to be situated slightly away from the laptop.Test platform: I only have one computer with USB-C, a new Lenovo ThinkPad T480. Additionally, I use Linux exclusively on this laptop, so all reports of functionality are based on a standard install of 64-bit Fedora 29, with standard Linux drivers.General functionality: the device was detected as expected when plugged into either the USB-C charging port, or into the USB-C accessory port next to the charging port. I was able to charge from either of these ports by plugging the Lenovo charging cable into the USB-C port on the device. The device provides 1x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0, 1x full-size SD slot, and 1x micro SD slot. All of these connections were solid and worked reliably with a variety of USB flash drives, a Microsoft wireless mouse, and several SD cards. I was not able to perform any speed testing to see if the transfer rates are comparable to the Lenovo's built-in USB 3.0 ports.Observations:- though this has more to do with the T480's design and my personal preferences than with the device, I prefer to use a standard mouse on the left side of the laptop. Given the location of the USB-C ports, and the flush-mount design, both the device and any attached USB or SD cards significantly protrude from the side of the laptop, making the mousing area on the left side much less available- if the USB-C power is removed while the device is inserted, all ports re-detect, which could be a problem for mounted storage devices, as they would be unexpectedly removed- due to the flush-mount design, the device is not particularly suited to some laptops. The T480's two USB-C ports are situated toward the back on the left side of the unit. When plugged in 'right side up', where one can see the top side of any inserted USB devices, the device overlaps the neighboring USB-C port, making it inaccessible. It also extends beyond the back of the laptop, requiring the device to be angled a few degrees away from flush due to the lid design of the T480. If the device is flipped 'upside down', everything works exactly as before, but now the device partially blocks the T480's fan exhaust, interfering with cooling, and would be heated beyond normal expectations by absorbing some of the fan exhaust's heat. Conclusion: While the device is functional, there are more premium and more functional options at the same or lower price point available. I would not recommend this device for laptops which have a fan exhaust on the same side of the computer as the USB-C port(s). I personally would not use this device - even as I received it for free - without a short extension cable to keep it and any attached devices out of my way, make the second USB-C port accessible, and keep it away from the laptop's fan exhaust.

Loving this adapter and great for the price!
Came in just in time! This adapter is great. I am able to charge my MacBook and also charge my iPhone at the same time using the USB 3.0 port. There is also a USB 2.0 but I rarely use that port since it isn't fast enough to transfer files or charge my devices through USB, wish it was just two USB 3.0 ports. It is great having a MicroSD card reader and an SD card reader in this device as well, which makes it easy to transfer my photos from my camera to my MacBook. For the price, it is a great NEEDED adapter for any MacBook since the MacBook only has a USB Type C port and nothing else. This does the job! Will buy again or recommended to any of my friends that need a port for their MacBook. Wish it came with an HDMI port or even a micro HDMI port so I can easily do a presentation using my MacBook.

Useful adapter fits alongside most macs
This adapter worked well and has 60W power delivery as listed. The USB3 and MicroSD slot are particularly handy. It fits alongside the mac so aesthetically it's nice, though there is a bit of wobble. This product was a bit smaller than I expected, which was nice. The build looks reasonably solid. One drawback is it blocks up both USB-C ports on one side of the macbook. So the other port is wasted, and the adapter does not have a second USB-C input to make up for it. I also wish the second USB2 port was a USB3 port, and I'm not sure what the reason was for making it USB2. But that is as listed in the description.I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Almost a 5 star and worth purchasing
4.5 stars - it works well and haven't experienced any connection drops. I run two or more USB powered midi controllers both in the studio and on stage, so far no problems. My only concern is it only plugins into only one of the USB C ports on my Mac and can easily wiggle. I've seen similar hubs that connect to both USB C ports which I'd imagine makes it a bit more stable. I just use a bit of gaf tape to secure it tightly during a performance, but I probably would do the same with any USB hub... worth the purchase and the price is ridiculous cheap so you can't go wrong.

I wish I got it sooner... it is a Great USB Type C Hub
I have tested the YZPGBT C Hub with a Mac, Desktop and Microsoft Surface Book:It worked great with the MAC. Lined up perfectly and almost became part of the laptop. Color also matches the laptop!!! Oh.. also worked with my Samsung Galaxy 9 phone. With a C to USB 3.0 adapter it worked perfectly with my Desktop PC and Surface book laptop. The USB ports are working great are fast. The card readers are a blessing... no more need to additional USB ports, card readers and chargers. This unit is beautiful, small enough to carry with the laptop and handles all needed. Finally, the low price is very attractive for a unit which is well built, sturdy and works perfectly.

Nice build and functionality
This adapter does exactly what it says it will do and complements the aluminum finish on my XPS13 laptop. The quality of the adapter is high and it has a nice weight and feel to it. It plugs in just right so there is very little wiggle tolerance between the base of the adapter and the surface the laptop is sitting on. This makes it easy to apply pressure top down on the adapter while inserting and removing the usb plugs or SD cards without worrying about straining the laptop connector. Great product. I would purchase again if I needed.

Why didn't I get this sooner?!
My life is changed with this hub - I travel a lot for work and my bag was filled with a bunch of usb plugs, more than half of which are a second or third replacement for ones lost/left in hotel rooms. Now I have a sweet little (it's so tiny and light!) solution - I'm able to plug this right into my computer to charge devices and tap into external drives at the same time. Extra bonus being able to just pop my SD card in to easily download pictures. My friends can expect they'll get one for their birthday haha!
