I got tired of the plain look to my faded garage doors so finally decided to do something about it. Along with some gel stain, I was able to completely transform the look of my house. These hardware sets are the icing to the cake. They arrived quickly and packaged very nicely with protective papers in between each piece to prevent scratching. The "hinges" attach with phillips head screws which are included. While they could be a bit more decorative with some screw caps, the screws themselves are textured to match the hinges, and therefore do not noticeably stand out. The handles look equally as nice, but did not come with matching texture screws, therefore I deducted one star. The mounting holes for the handles do need to be drilled completely through the door, as they are attached with bolts rather than short screws. Easy to do with a handheld drill. I'd rather mount them this way rather than with screws just in case someone actually intends to use the handle to lift the door. I'd be afraid a small screw would simply pull out of the thin sheet metal the doors are made of.Overall, I am very pleased and ended up purchasing 5 sets of these to do my 3 car garage as well as the 2 doors on my barn. Don't hesitate, these are well worth it!

I got these and had no clue what I was doing. It does take some common sense and measuring to determine where these should fit. All garages doors are different, so if you don’t know how to install these, ask a friend that has some knowledge and can assist you.

Extremely easy to install and really dresses up your garage doors. These are the metal hinges and even though they come with self tapping screws I'd recommend you drill a very small pilot hole first as it makes driving the screws so much easier and you won't dimple your doors from excessive pushing. Just grabbed a roll of the blue painters tape and taped them into position, drilled the pilot holes, and used a screwdriver to install the screws. If you use a drill driver be very careful or you'll overtighten and strip out the screws, so I recommend using just a screwdriver, and then just snug them down. What a difference these make over just a plain faced, boring garage door.

As for as cost / benefit, this has to be about the best money I have spent to improve the look of my home. I have truly never spent so little to gain so much in looks. It really makes me wonder why I did not do this years ago. I live in a nice home on a nice street....but have the same cheap metal garage doors as every other house. Now, for a minimal amount of money, my doors look so much better (at least I think so). They are also easy to install with a cordless drill. I have no idea about the longevity as I just installed them but will update later if needed.

This inexpensive hardware really dressed up my standard garage doors! I am so happy with the final look. I am glad that these are available to DIY, because I was thinking I had to call the garage door company prior to doing my research. My battery-operated drill did not work, so I had to borrow my neighbor's more powerful drill; had to drill holes in my door prior to screwing them in. First, I used painter's tape to place the hardware where I wanted them, drew a dot with a pencil through the holes, then drilled. Worked perfectly. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to have more expensive looking doors.

Excellent value. Solid metal, nice flat black finish, much better than some of the cheap plastic ones (magnets instead of screws? forget it) I saw at big boxes. Suggestion: make yourself cardboard templates to locate the holes on the garage doors (one template for the "hinges", one for the handles) so you get a precise symetrical layout on your garage doors. All that's needed are the templates, a sharpie to mark the screw holes, a cordless drill, and a phillips-head screwdriver; black sheet-metal screws are included and work fine. Doors look great (friends: "did you get new garage doors?"), good quality product, very good price

Couldnt find these in any big box store. Purchased and installed easily. Look great too.
