Like others have said...slightly rough cut but pretty good!
It's not a perfect clean cut but it's pretty good, slightly rough but I don't think it will really show in finished quilled art. It's not so much a rough cut, it's more like a bunch of little indentations along each sides, but I think it was getting a little less noticeable every page I shredded. Also beware if you use this to make quilling strips, don't use special paper for the very first page you shred b/c it left some grease or oil on like half the paper, but the rest were fine. I've only shredded a few pages so far but I'm really glad I took a chance and bought this, it will really help save on quilling strips and help me get other colors that I can't find pre cut. I used a pretty thick 76lb construction paper and it was a little hard to turn, but if you hold the entire handle instead of just the end part it's easier to turn and more likely not to break the handle. If things change I will update my review but so far I love it! I was hoping for a cleaner cut, but hoping it will continue to get better. Plus I bought the square trade protection for just $2.68 for two years, thought it was worth it! :)

Poorly made and not for heavy use.
Bought in September 2015. I used the strips to make origami lucky stars, paper beads, etc. The handle cracked in two spots in the place that slides into the metal peg that turns the gears. I tried super gluing the cracks and clamping it down while it dried. While it turned the handle without paper in it, it would turn the handle with paper in it. You cannot make the gears move without the handle, unless you duct tape a small clamp or extra pair of pliers onto the peg. It is really disappointing that it broke after a couple months of use, I didn't even shred more than one piece of paper at a time, I just used it a lot for crafting. I suggest getting a electric one or a pair of Martha Stewart fringe scissors if you need good quality paper shreds.

Works well on card stock
I bought this to shred paper for quilling--a new hobby for me and my niece. The paper cuts about 3mm. I can cut card stock and the common thin paper, one sheet at a time. It fits a full 8.5” width of paper. It’s a clean cut on the heavier card stock, but if you want “perfect”, none of those tiny rolls on the edge, no. I personally don’t mind. II bought card stock in various colors at Michaels when the packs went on sale 50 sheets for $2.50--you’re getting a lot of strips for that price in a lot of colors.

Nice, not bad than electronic shredders
Nice, not bad, save my time than electronic shredders to be able cut easily to be. I used now and shredded lot old papers to trash out. Electronic shredders sometimes have problems when stuck in and hardly to get some pieces of paper out but that one easily to get out than electronic shredders. I like that for me to. Hope anyone can do that too. Thanks enjoy it.

Great For Light Work
Great little personal paper shredder. I wouldn't suggest using more than two pieces of copy paper at one time in this shredder, though. It shreds nicely, but definitely isn't what I would call a 'work horse'. I use it to shred paper for basket filler. I like that it accommodates an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper.

Don't purchase!!!!!!
HORRIBLE!!!! I bought this to use for paper quilling strips, in fact, when I searched for paper quilling tools this popped up so I was intrigued. I saw the mixed reviews but ordered anyways and hoped for the best. Big mistake. This does not produce clean cuts. The edges almost look like ripped construction paper if that makes sense. The blades must not be sharp enough I'm guessing. Also, the handle is VERY cheaply made and flimsy. It has already cracked so once it breaks completely the unit will be absolutely unusable unless you use something to clamp onto the little turning knob. I'm sadly disappointed as I really needed a shredder like this that actually works. I have a larger pile of paper that is now waste than I do usable strips. Not very economical for someone who runs their own business.

Good item but not for quilling strips.
Works great for shredding but not as well for quilling strips which was the original purpose of me buying it. The strips are a little rough along the edges but still useful for other things.

Best for Light Use
I kind of knew this wasn't going to be the most amazing shredder because you "get what you pay for" but I was hoping it would hold up longer than a week. I needed to shred papers for a school project and by the 50th sheet the blades had dulled (strips showed rough serrated edges) and by the 100th sheet nothing was feeding correctly which meant the center bunched, which meant the shredder didn't shred. I should have spent the money to buy a better quality one.
