Definitive Collection of Definitive CLAMP Manga
There's manga and then there's THIS. After a lifetime of reading comics and manga there's some titles that floated to the top of my list. Appleseed. Gundam Origin. And THIS.I remember a friend showing me 7 Star Stories when I was kid and letting me gasp at the mecha fights and explosions on the huge pages. When I watched MKR DVDs I appreciated the fights and mecha, but wished that the artwork was better. Then I found out that it was cruddy VHS transfers that were responsible, and the artwork was actually spectacular. When it finally got a remaster with proper color and strong lines for the first time I could appreciate what a masterpiece MKR truly was.In the meantime I'd made a point of trying to track down the manga, and managed to secure the omnibus volume 1 and 2. Sadly, while the quality was better than the newspaper print manga gets in Japan (or so I was told) the tiny pages made me squint and seeing details was impossible. I wept for the fact that I would never see this manga as it was meant to be seen, even though the artwork WAS impressive. And then I heard this extra-large high quality edition announced... Th- I- It- Oh my god. There's great story, there's great plot (and the plot twist at the end of the 1st collection is a doozy), and then there's ART. The artwork on showcase here, heavily stylized, gorgeously drawn, defines the term "jaw dropping". I got my copy and flipped through it and was practically hyper-ventilating. My eyes were popping out of my head. I felt like I'd just had a shot of Morphine. I...Okay, okay, enough with the hyperbole... If you've seen the anime and like it, you need to own this. If you've played the video game and liked it, you need to own this. If you have read the manga and love it...you guessed it, you need to own this. It's own of the most beautiful books ever made with high contrast high quality white paper and deep blacks. The images pop off of the huge pages. This is an heirloom reminiscent of the comics my father used to keep locked in his desk drawer when I was a kick.I can only hope with tremendous successes like this the trend will spread and we'll be getting Appleseed in an edition like this soon.

Box set worth the collecting
I had purchased the paperback version of these volumes, and were very disappointed by the quality of the print and paper. Fastforward a few months, after a friend mentioned that his 25th Manga box sets came in, and how wonderful they were, I had to splurge.First delivery smashed the hell out of the box. But the return was painless, and the replacement came within two days in great condition. The binding and paper are great, I love how it feels in my hands. And the art is so good. I love the artbook included, and it looks great on my shelf. Now if only they would release a collector's version of RG Veda, please I'm begging.

Exactly what I wanted!
These Anniversary Editions are so beautiful! Def worth the money. I was going to purchase these at Barnes and Noble, but they're more expensive on that site. The only negative I'd say is for Amazon rather than the seller. The box it arrived in was so smashed up I couldn't believe the books made in one piece. Didn't bother taking pictures. Didn't think anything could be done. Amazon do better!

Worth the Price
Super High quality reprint of a classic CLAMP Manga. Everything in this is really high quality. All 4 books come in a beautiful box and each book is hard cover with foil added to the wonderful art on both front and back. The paper used in each book is higher than standard manga quality and the art book comes with a really cool fold out double sided poster and is printed on the same high quality paper. If your a Magic Knight Rayearth fan this is the ultimate edition for the first part of the series. Worth every cent.

Best series in the best format
This series is my favourite of all time. The art, the story, character design and development... I love it all. This hardcover version is beautiful, and brings me right back to when I first read it, in nothing but good ways. This was given to me as a surprise from my husband, and I didn't even know it existed. I wholeheartedly recommend this to any Shoujo fan, or even people that like mecha.
