Magnadyne C45-3800A: 3 Position Speaker Selector Switch for RV or Home

I had four speakers inside my RV and two outside. My stereo gave connections for only four speakers. I installed this switch (dont let it intimidate you) so that now I have two speakers always on regardless of switch position. When "A" is selected my rear speakers are on (with the front). When "B" is selected my rear speakers go quiet and the two outside ones come to life (the front stays ON). In "Both" the inside rear speakers AND the outside ones come on (front ones are still on). In "Both" you have six speakers. Only the positive lines are connected to the switch. The negative wires for the rear (2) or outside (2) speaker circuits are connected to the negative input.

Added this to my mix of speakers I installed on my Travel trailer. There was already interior speakers from the factory but I added pods on the exterior wall with marine speakers. I wanted to zone them so either A you can take a nap inside while were jamming outside or B watch a movie inside without blowing up the campground.The wiring is straight forward, only uses the front left and front right channel from the radio. The two left negatives use the same negative from the radio and same for the other side.Tried to buy a radio with built in zones but those are few and far between, so for 15 bucks this is the next best (and pretty much only) option.

As described, works good quality good and directions were good.

For this switch to control 4 speakers it needs to have 8 wires it only has 6? I had to combine the ground wires and use as a 4 wire switch to control the inside and outside separately it made it a more difficult installation

The switch works great. It has a sturdy dial and clean bezel. Wiring is tricky as there are no instructions included. You have to download from their website and even then, it’s not very clear.Two things to keep in mind, 1) only two of the four channels from the head unit get used and 2) only the positive wires connect to this device, negative wires from one set of speakers are connected to one negative wire from the head unit. Hopefully, this review makes installation easy for the next person.Overall, I’m happy with the product.

no instructions for negative speaker wires, other than that product works fine.

no instructions however, available on line--------- good product- and good customer service--- called and spoke to technical dept... they were very good.
