Quickly became one of my favourite manga

Spoilers ahoy.In this volume, the reader gets to see a flashback of Ed and Al as they try to earn the favour of Izumi by surviving on Yock Island without using any alchemy. As if making shelter and providing food for themselves wasn't hard enough for the boys, they also face regular attacks by a masked muscle man who demands that they leave. Ed and Al have one other challenge for their month on the island: they must learn the meaning of the enigmatic phrase, "All is one, and one is all."They succeed, then start their real training. When they finish, they return to Resembool and start their real research. The reader then gets to see the brothers attempt to resurrect their mother from the dead, and Ed's confrontation with "the Truth". The next day, Roy Mutang arrives, thinking the Elric brothers are grown men. He learns the Elrics are boys, and then finds the evidence of the failed transmutation at the Elric house. Roy offers the boys a chance to become State Alchemists, saying they will have the best chance of regaining their original bodies if they join up.Ed begins planning to save both himself and Al, and move forward, and accepts being a "dog of the military" for the chance to help make things right. After becoming "the Fullmetal Alchemist", Ed and Al choose to burn the childhood home down with the idea of forcing themselves to always move forward.As the flashback ends, Izumi tells Ed and Al that they can no longer be her students, but Ed persists in trying to gain any information she can share that might lead to their learning something useful. Unfortunately for them, other individuals have learned that the Elrics are in Dublith, and want their help, whether Ed and Al want to help or not.

much-needed exposition and back story to beef-up the character development on the Elric brothers. Much of the scenes here show the pre-state alchemist events that happened, including the failed human transmutation!

This sixth volume of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga continues the background of the Elric brothers from their month on Yock Island, their training with Izumi, their attempts at human transmutation and Edward's introduction to the military. The volume also has Mustang receive news about his transfer and sees a new threat emerge.This is another very good volume of the manga which nicely incorporates the background of the Elric brothers. The volume includes some nice information on the philosophy of Alchemy as well as remaining both funny and interesting throughout. Fullmetal Alchemist is definitely a very enjoyable manga and although this volume is a bit light on the action it should still good enough to keep your interest.

Book cake in very good condition and was very secure in packaging. Nothing to complain about really.
