Chinese Traditional Mahjong Playing Cards - 144 Card Set

I bought my pack of chinese traditional mahjong playing cards from Yellow Mountain Imports. Shipping took 5 days, not counting Sunday and the Saturday I ordered it on. Cards are in perfect shape, brand new, all 144 are there, plus two blank cards which I made into handy cheat sheets for the character cards and winds. The only cards in English are the season and flower cards; all of the other cards are without western letters or numbers. If you are looking for an affordable, high quality alternative to traditional mahjong tiles, I recommend you buy this set. I also recommend you buy a large deck box and simple card sleeves ("cheap sleeves," or "penny sleeves,") to extend the life of the cards. The box they come in is nice, but the box isn't going to last long.

Nice sturdy box

Love mahjong and love this! When I say mahjong, I mean real mahjong (not the matching kind but the REAL KIND). Thicc, big, and heavy deck but great for traveling and the price ain't so bad. I will say, however, that because these are cards and you would have to hold these in your hands and have to be able to see all the cards, it can be kind of a hassle because your hand gets sore and its hard to organize and look at all 16 cards. But this is an easy fix since you just have to get one of those card holders. Have to improvise on how to set up the cards since you can't really stack them the way you do with the mahjong blocks. So, I just split them into 2 piles for the game. It's not a big problem tho. Overall, this is great! Convenient and fun for road trips or when you are waiting at a gate at the airport!

If you're looking for very portable traveling mahjong fun without the trouble of the tiles, this is perfect. It almost becomes a card game that can be played almost anywhere. The cards are slightly smaller than an average poker card, but the box can hold them all perfectly without much wear and tear. I got this for just $2, so it's completely worth it. Cheaper than a set of poker cards I would say. It would be a plus to learn mahjong before getting these cards though, otherwise you'll have to find someone to teach you.

while this set of cards is beautiful it came missing some cards out of th sets. its a great size for travel however: this set was missing one "8 crac" and one "4 dot". there were only 6 blanks (to be used as jokers in American game) where 8 are needed. It was a "sealed set" so I am disappointed and am returning them.

I love these cards. Of course nothing compares to the actual tiles but I bought this for our mini road trip and it was a fun and different experience. The cards are good quality for playing cards and I love that it comes in a thicker, sturdier box so I can just throw it in my backpack for a little fun while on the go.

Cards came without instructions which is okay for me since we know how to play. However the deck is missing a card. We shuffled before finding that out so we had to sort them back out to see which card is missing. The cards are also printed off center and differently so it’s not perfect

Es un juego que es tradicional en la familia. No hay como jugarlo con fichas, pero esta versión se puede usar cuando alguno de los participantes tenga algo de prisa. Hay que ser muy cuidadosos con las cartas para no maltratarlas, fácilmente se pueden dañar

El paquete llego en dos días y las cartas cumplen plenamente mis espectativas. No llevan instrucciones de como se juega, con lo que hay que saberlo de antemano; pero al ser cartas es más fácil y comodo la mezcla y preparación de las partidas a disputar. Habra que esperar a ver su resistencia, con el uso y el paso del tiempo. Muy contento con su compra.

This pack of Mahjong cards looks great, the quality of the cards themselves very acceptable. I bought these cards because I love playing Mahjong but it is not always possible for me to carry a Mahjong set around, which is when cards offer a convenient alternative. One additional feature I particularly liked is the intricate back design in red which adds an extra richness to the feel of the deck. I was also quite impressed with the sturdy material of the box they come in. Considering you have 144 cards in that box it is a good thing that it also happens to appear and feel quite durable. One thing buyers should note however is that there are no western numerals on the cards so if you buy them you need to learn as a minimum to recognise Chinese numbers from 1 to 9 as well as the characters for the 4 winds. Otherwise this pack is great value for money.
