Pretty big for digging post holes
Pretty big for digging post holes. I took mine to the grinder and smalled it up some. Damn good quality though.

Nice spade, but too much for me.
This item is way too heavy for an aging gardener. I looked long and hard for something to replace another tool that I think is irreplaceable. I am also very disappointed that I now need to pay 1/3 of the price in shipping to return. I buy from Amazon a lot and this was a surprise. Understandable, but still a lot of money for something I won't be keeping. I am looking for a smaller version of this spade. Any help in finding one would be very welcome.

... in it and file the edge it is a wonderful planting shovel
Needs a wire wheel put on it to remove paint and render smooth but once you put your time into making a mirror steel face in it and file the edge it is a wonderful planting shovel.

Handle broke
Did last long wood handle snapped. For professional use I would definitely order again but would go with fiberglass

Quality control issues
I was looking for a well made shovel since I tend to use them all of the time. This shovel has a very good handle and is made strong. The only thing is that the shovel blade is bent. It curves up more on one side than the other. This is the first shovel that I ever bought that had this issue. So, I can't give it a high rating. If the manufacturer can implement a tighter QA program then they will have a good product.
