This table is perfect for me
This table is perfect for me. It plays well, fits in the limited play space in my basement, packs up easily for moving outside or another house, is very sturdy and is just small enough that it gives me a chance against stronger players but is large enough to be fun for everyone. I have wanted a ping pong table for a long time, but we just did not have the space for a full size table. My basement is large enough, though for this table. Because of the small size, you need less space around the table because you cannot wind up consistently for big shots. Once you adjust your playing style, the table is just as fun as a full size. Outdoor tables always intrigued me since we are limited on space. Unfortunately a good outdoor ping pong table is very expensive and they look unwieldy. This Joola mid sized table is very easy to fold up into two card table sized pieces, so we can take it outside in no time and then return it inside when done. It is even small enough to go in the back of my station wagon for trips out. Reinstalling the net is a breeze. This Joola table is made with particle board, but it is sturdy and gives a true bounce. I do not worry about breaking it, even when transporting it. Good players will have a learning curve on this smaller surface. That is good for me, as I am not a good player and have defeated superior players. My reign does not last long, as after a few plays people get the hang of it and it provide very fun play for everyone. My one complaint is the design of the hinges. The do not lock firmly in place and so the table does not feel as secure as it could. That being said, it is still a sturdy table that I expect to last a very long time.

LOVE our JOOLA Midsize Ping Pong Table!
I have enjoyed Table Tennis since age 6 or 7. I always played on a full-size table. My wife and I (soon to be 68) haven't owned our own table for over 25 years and recently moved into a smaller home that has no room for a full-size ping pong table so we took a chance with this JOOLA Midsize and, within minutes, had it standing firmly on a carpeted floor in our basement family room where we have plenty of space all around it to play a lively game and get a good workout to boot. It arrived a week ago and we haven't been able to stop playing on it since. I am amazed at how quickly both my wife and I adjusted our playing styles to this smaller table. We absolutely love it and can't wait to teach our two grandkids (ages 5 and 8) to learn the game. It's perfect for young and old. Assembly was easy: Remove from box, open the attached legs of each half table, place two half tables together where you want to play, attach the net. That's it! I think it is very well made and attractive, quite solid and sturdy, with easy storage if taken apart and legs folded back under each half table. There are no wheels under the legs but, as the table is not too heavy, it can be easily shifted around on the floor, if necessary, with little effort by either one or two people. If I'm not mistaken, this JOOLA table is the same brand that the middle school where I taught for 34 years had ten of these in its cafeteria for use before and after school and also in the gym when the PE teacher used them for a couple of weeks each semester. I really can't fault this ping pong table in any way. Eventually we will buy a full-size JOOLA outdoor table to use in our garage, but, until we do, I think this midsize table is giving us almost all the same pleasure and exercise that a full-size table would give us. It will be interesting to see how we adjust our playing styles to the full-size after spending a few months improving our playing skills at ping pong on just this midsize table, but, as variety is the spice of life, I think it will be great fun to be able to play on either table, as we so choose, when the time comes. You won't regret buying this JOOLA midsize table tennis table and I recommend it highly and with no reservations. The price is right also. We expect to pay around $600 for the full-size table when we get around to ordering it, so the $154 we paid for this one doesn't seem unreasonable at all. If you wait a while, you might even find it for less. We weren't willing to wait for a sale price and I'm glad we didn't. Every day now I can't wait to hear my wife say the words, "Anyone for a game of ping pong?" Unless I say it first!!

Pretty good table
I bought this table for a small apartment, and like some of the other reviewers, I was a little surprised at how small it is. But it's the right height, the surface is excellent (though it does mark easily), and it fits very neatly into my room - in fact, I will be leaving it up rather than folding it away after use as I had expected to have to do. We've already had a lot of games on it, and it's a great addition to our home. The quality of the table top, the clamps and the net are good, though there were a few small dents and scratches on the sides of the table on arrival. The table comes in two pieces, i.e. two separate tables. When you place them together, they don't meet very well, but the clamps for the net are surprisingly excellent at positioning and holding the two tables in place (though this design is a bit too delicate for moving the table around much once erected - the two tables risk coming apart when I pull it out from the wall for instance). The net itself is sturdy, looks good, and slips easily onto its holders. The main problem I have with the two tables is the folding legs, which look and feel as though they ought to click into position, but somehow do not. Instead they seem precariously up, and I have the ongoing fear that they will collapse if I put any pressure on the table as they are not locked/held into position. And in fact the hinges seem a little bent. Nothing's happened yet, but I suspect it will, and I'm not sure whether it's defective or a design flaw.

Great fun!
Actually 4.5 stars. See my final sentence. We received our Joola midsize table tennis table four days ago. My husband and I are around 60 years old each and got it in order to keep active, which it has proven to do; no more vegetating on the internet/ watching TV for hours on end (when we’re not at work or out hiking.) Neither of us has played in years. We played three different sessions during the first day. It was so fun that we couldn’t bear to stop. We’ve yet to play doubles. The table is noticeably smaller than regulation size, but we feel that it makes the game a bit more challenging, having to be somewhat more precise in where we place the ball. Other than that, the table is wonderful. The net is taut and easy to attach. The hardness of surface causes the ball to bounce as well as any table we’ve ever played on and it’s level. We received it by mail, a day late due to unforeseen trouble with the carrier. The box had a puncture incurred when under transport and has openings serving as handholds for the mail carrier, so that it was lucky that the bolt, screw and washers for one end of one leg which had come loose hadn’t fallen out, but stayed in the box so that I was able to reattach the loose leg with tools I had on hand at home. I would advise the company to make sure all the bolts and screws are properly tightened before boxing the table. Perhaps a bit thicker cardboard could be used for the box, as well, to avoid punctures. There was a minor scratch or two on the underside of the table which are not visible when the table is in use, nor do they have any affect on how the table functions. The size is perfect for our little home. It’s good that it’s in two halves, so that it is easier to deal with when setting it up or putting it away, both of which are done within 5 minutes – I would say it takes only about 3 minutes. I can do it on my own with no trouble, though it is advised always to use two people to lift the table into the upright position; I’m 5’4” and no weakling. It is good that half of the table can be used as a card table, and that we’ll be able to use the table when we have more guests than our small dining table accommodates. If it weren’t for the loose leg and scratches from transport when being mailed, I would give this table five stars.

Furious!!! TABLE IS TRASH!! Want my MONEY BACK!
Just now opened this package delivered a few days ago. The table which is supposed to basically come assembled, legs all fall apart immediately upon opening because just about ALL of the screws have fallen out! At first I thought, yeah this really sucks but no big deal the since I discovered the screws are here scattered throughout the box. I retrieved the screws and send the box to the dumpster. Turns out this table has no intention of staying together at all! The screws don’t fit properly and evidently they NEVER did! They don’t screw to any end, you can just keep turning them. So the moment you go to stand the table up several of the screws release and fall to the floor again! I had a few small screws available and used them for a few of the places and they are holding up much better then the screws it came with! Too bad I only had four, I need about 44 more! Not to mention some of the screws holding the table together are also loose! I am livid! My son asked me for this table and it’s a gigantic disappointment to say the least! Nowhere near worth the amount being charged! So cheaply designed it’s a robbery! I truly feel like I have been robbed! As if someone just forced me to give them all of my money and gave me All of the mental anguish of a person who has literally been robbed! I would like to have my money refunded ASAP! Update: THIS JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE! I tried to work with it and purchased my own extra screws to no avail the table is NO GOOD!!! Money back!!!

COULD NOT BE MORE SATISFIED!!!! (UPDATED)
The packaging was professional (surrounded by honeycomb inside and foam wrap). Weighed about 50 lbs. After removing the packaging, I was able to pull out the legs and play ping pong with my family immediately because the assembly was that easy (pop open the legs put the two table pieces together and cinch down the net!) And since it is a midsize table (approx 2/3 the size of a full table), it really had us work on the volley aspect and our first use, we all played for 4 hours. Addicting! Age range of the family members was from teens to 70 yrs old! What amazes me is the quality is better than a full size tennis table by other brands. JOOLA makes tables for the professional tournaments and they use the same quality in this mid-size table. Comes with a very high quality net. It does not come with any paddles or balls so order some if you want to play right away! And last, when we want to fold it and put it away, this was just as simple as the assembly. You will not regret the purchase of this table. It's now been 3 weeks and we have not changed our view on this family fun sport. I've been able to get my 70 year old dad off his "sofa" and a little more interest in being active because of this table. I wore a heart rate monitor and after each play we are averaging between 400-550 calories burned but it's because we are playing at a rapid speed trying to figure out how to slam on a shorter table, it takes skill! This is the best thing that I could have done for our family! One more thing...any of the negatives that were written about the packing of this table was from 2012-2013 and they must have fixed these issues because as I said in the beginning of this review, it was packed very well. Outstanding instructional video: [...] I PURCHASED THIS in February 2016 for $179. Now the price is even better...so better grab it! As of December 2016 and playing on it every weekend with neighbors, family and friends, it's still keeping it's new appearance. Outstanding quality!!

Great family fun and good value
Jan. 2018: I am updating my previous review. The little metal rod that holds up the net broke off after only six months of occasional play. Now there is nothing to hold up the net on one side. I wish Amazon still had the "contact the seller" option on the account page because I was hoping the seller would replace the broken item. If there was a way to contact the seller I would request that they replace the broken piece since it's such a small item. Otherwise the product is defective. I had previous written this in October 2017: This is a great table tennis/ping pong set! I ordered it for a Halloween party this past weekend and it was a hit for both adults and kids. It's easy to assemble and sturdy and light enough to move to different areas. We moved it to an outside patio where it got plenty of use. If we need to we can easily fold it up and store it in its box. It does not come with paddles or balls so those need to be purchased separately.

Love it, No construction needed, Definitely Mid Sized.
I don't know much about ping pong. My kids say my play is lousy, What I do know is that I hate fiddling with poor quality and I hate feeling like I've spent too much money. I just spent $70 a week ago on a table top conversion from another maker. I spent an hour just getting the hinges screwed on (the premachined holes were not correct) and then found out the screws were going to scratch the table I was putting it on. SO THIS WEEK: I got fed up and ordered this thing based on reviews and the words "no construction needed." Thank goodness. This is a great piece of equipment for the money. The legs are sturdy and lock into place. It can easily be folded flat again and stored easily. It can be toted by a small person (I am 5feet tall). My kids are 8-10, it is a great size for them. They complained initially that it was smaller than what they had seen elsewhere, frankly, this fits them better than others we have tried out in a store. The surface is well made and the net and fixing posts are sturdy and easy. SO: Quality, Easy, Ready Made, Nice Price, The right size for kids (or adults who just want to play). I note others mention poor packaging. Mine was well packed and was in perfect shape.
