The book was very cute! However the preface discusses Jesus, and at the end of the book as well. I do not have any issue with it, however I am a Nanny for a hindu family, and would have liked to have known about it ahead of time.

This book is really well done and does a great job providing an easy-to-understand history of Independence Day. The pictures are excellent and my 6 and 8 year olds are now able to tell the story of Independence Day. The purpose of the book is to explain the REASON behind the 4th of July celebration, not show the celebration itself. Great book!

I really appreciate how this book explains the meaning behind the holiday.

Ordered this book for my 3 and 6 year old great nephews because we are visiting them for the 4th and was very disappointed. It arrived bent because Amazon just put it in bubble wrap. There was only 6 pages showing how families celebrate the holiday with a picnic and fireworks and 20 pages of how the 4th came about! My nephews will be bored after the fireworks!!
