Q: Is it better to use Ceramic or a wooden eggs to get your chicken broody?

I don’t know if fake eggs cause chickens to get broody. I doubt if it matters much to the birds. My hens were laying eggs in secret nests and I wanted them to lay in the nesting box. I put the ceramic eggs in as a lure and it seemed to work. The hens did lay eggs along with the fake eggs. After a week or so one hen did become broody and is still sitting after 3 weeks. (I had put what I hoped were fertile eggs under her but they haven’t hatched. Duds, sadly)
