I love this. I set this at the end of ...
I love this. I set this at the end of my very long drive way. Then, filled it with sand ( almost to the brim), fitted it with an artificial evergreen wreath flat atop the sand, and now it is blooming with beautiful artificial colorful summer foliage - no watering necesary! Come fall, I can change it out, as with winter.Mine is set on a timer. Our rural road is very dark so this is nice to add some light. It has 2 settings. The first is very bright with a 60 watt bulb, so I turned it to the second setting which just sort of mutes the light. It was very easy to put together. I am a handicapped woman and did it myself. Someone complained about spiders or bugs getting up inside the light casing. Well, I live in the mountains, so I find bugs and spiderwebs everywhere. I buy a bugspray from my hardware store every year that I spray around my home, property, shed, anything I want to keep the bugs off of. It works for a year. Even stink bugs! Just make sure it's on the label.Anyway. This is an awesome deal. Pretties up the whole area during the day and adds some much needed light at night.I'm a happy customer!

Love this Lamp
I've seen similar lamps - citronella/candle and some electric - over the years, but when I replaced my deck I decided to give this one a try. This lamp is very nice and gives my deck just the touch I was looking for. It's easy enough to put together that you really don't need instructions and in a recessed area, I expect to get several years of good use out of it. Lots of people have commented to me on how much they like this lamp and I have to agree it was well worth it. It's a little wobbly empty, but it comes with sand, so you add a little gravel, dirt, and plants and it's a lovely accessory. Enough so, that I'm going to get another one for the lower deck.

Lights a very large area
I put this together in about 30 minutes - the "threads" on the ends of the post are kind of hard to get together - it was a pain and in the end it was a little crooked but it works well. The "elbow" in the middle of the post you see in the picture covers the joint of the two pole pieces. It looks good, the pot is lighter in color and looks more fake but a few hanging plants and no problems. This has withstood 60 mph winds without tipping over and we only have the base half full of stones. It throws a lot of light down the drive; all in all it's a good deal if you don't want the hassle or cost of an installed light.

Very nice addition to our front lawn
We live in a gated community and there are no street lights. Only the coach lights that are on the house. Since we are the last house in a cul-de-sac, it is very dark towards the end of the street. We buried the post about six to eight inches into the ground for better support, filled the pot with sand and we are pretty sure it is not going anywhere. Even added some artificial flowers! The only issue we had was getting power to it, so we dug a trench (not deep) just to bury a pvc pipe to put the wire through for weather protection and rain. The light post is about 40 feet away from the house and luckily we have a power outlet on that side. So it worked perfect. I put it on a timer, so it comes on at dusk and turns off at dawn. Received quite a few compliments from our neighbors!

Looks decent but I think it's over priced.
This patio/deck lamp looks decent enough. But at over $100, you are paying for a something entirely made of plastic. And I know very well what happens to plastic when it's been outdoors over several years; it fades and gets brittle. So despite all the good reviews, I am not impressed for what it costs.***UPDATE***I have had this for 6 months, and now the top cover does not stay on. One of the tabs that hold the corner of the lid has broken off (unknown reason) so the lid is no longer secure. I'll have to use a glue gun to keep the lid on (and still be able to take it off again later). Still having issues with the pole bending. I regret buying this.

Directions not complete and not all hardware fit - but once assembled - the lamp is nice.
Yesterday, I received the lamp and immediately assembled the unit. I found the step-by-step instructions to be incomplete - but with a little thought, I was still able to easily assemble the lamp. The assembly is relatively easy and straight forward. The issue I had was when it cam time to attach the pagoda on to the top of the lamp. The plastic hand bolt that the manufacturer provided was a hair too short to catch the thread when the pagoda was attached. I brought the Pagoda into a nearby ACE hardware and for about $2.00 I was able to get the hardware I needed to complete the installation. The lamp works fine and provides good light.

Easy, affordable, stylish
Attractive, durable, easy install and looks authentic. I bought several to light up the yard in style. Highly recommended.

Nice Looking But Quality Is Low...
I thought this lamp was pretty sharp looking, and it is. I also liked the fact that it had a plug, ready to plug into the outlet. The flower basket is a nice touch, I have ornamental grass growing in mine. It was easy to put together, and seems to work fine for the couple months I have had it.The only negative, and it's a BIG negative is that it's made of a resin plastic material. During the hot summer days, the resin plastic gets soft, and it leans and tilts slightly in the wind. You then have to go out and re-straighten it until the next hot, windy day... My next one will be made of metal. Amazon was great to buy from, good price, and if I wasn't so lazy, I'm pretty sure they would accept a return. I'll keep this one until a better one comes along.
