Hello...can you “sear” (or just heat without any blending whatsoever) as an option prior to continuing on to making your soup? tia :)

Hi to you! I would not sear at all in this appliance. In fact, I spray a little avocado oil in the soup maker itself. Nothing sticks. I sear in a pan for better flavor and use either white or dark meat chicken or turkey, veggies and broth. Also, leftover meatballs help immensely. This soup maker also cooks raw meat, can you imagine and it is cooked very nicely. I hope you enjoy this awesome appliance! Hugs to you!!!

Can you put uncooked meat in it or does it always have to be pre-cooked?

Chicken and others are cooked within. There are cooking processes. It has a 1000W heating and a cutting blade if the process needs it. If you are doing milk based - chicken soup - pot pie ... take chicken brest and cut into 3/4" pieces and press the chunky soup program and start. Chicken Enchilada uses chicken tenderloins hut in half. Frozen corn, thawed then select pureed soup program and start. Shrimp could be either way I'd put cooked. Easy to buy that way. The instruction booklet is a good start. Make your own and versions. I will make some jam in a week or so.

Wonderful product

This is the best soup maker. I bought it in Netherlands as it was unavailable on Amazon in India. If you love soups but find it difficult to prepare this product is best solution. You can make soup in just 20 minutes without any effort

Customer support for this product is very bad it makes product useless

Very bad repair service ,. I have Viva collection Soup maker HR2201/81 which was purchased some 3 years back The product is non functional now After complaint nereby service station mechnic came and he had no knowlege about the product and collected it for service centre and retuned saying spare parts are not available Its elecronic curcit is main part and it is too faulty । So better avoid product

SERVICE CENTRE OF PHILIPS DOESNT GET THE SPARE PART IF THE BLENDER BLADE GETS JAMMED.... TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.....DONT BUY PHILIPS FOR ITS NAME.... A COMPANY MUST ALSO HAVE SPARE PARTS TO REPAIR..... A SOUP MAKER IS NOT USE AND THROW......
