It's ok. Could be better. (Updated Review)
This is a basic knife. It is currently priced around one Andrew Jackson (US Dollars). I'd say it's probably worth about one Andrew Jackson. I was hoping this would be one of those items where the quality exceeds the price, but it's just not one of those things. For starters, this knife is not made by Walther Arms. It is made by Umarex, who license the Walther name. I am somewhat of a Walther fan, which is why I purchased this item, but it is clearly not up to the level of quality (feel, finish, etc) that I have come to know from actual Walther made products.Second, the plastic... Walther is known for using high quality polymer (plastic) on their other products. The plastic on this knife feels much, much cheaper and of a much lower quality. The plastic handles screw onto an internal metal frame, so at least there is strength form the metal frame to give it a somewhat tougher overall feeling.Third, the features... It is a single blade, folding knife with a partially serrated blade, a lanyard hole (seriously, who needs that?), and a glass punch on one end. It also has a metal belt clip. So yeah, not much to say... it is what it is.Fourth, the negatives... It comes in a much larger than expected box, with a sleeve around it. Inside the box is a nylon belt sheath, and inside that is the actual knife. I wish they had saved money on the packaging and skipped the nylon belt sheath altogether and put the difference into better polymer handles with a better grip texture pattern. The textured pattern is pretty pointless as it offers no more grip than the non-textured portion. It is clearly for looks only. If this knife gets wet, a bare hand will slide all over the handle. The metal belt clip also seems a bit skinny. Time will tell if it will hold up or if it ends up getting bent due to regular use/daily carry. All told, it's worth about what I paid for it, but if it didn't have the Walther name on it, I wouldn't have even considered it. As it is, it probably will not be my daily carry knife for very long.Update September 2021:So after carrying this knife for a few months, I thought I'd come back and update my review. Short version: It's better than I initially thought. It's holding it's edge pretty well and the polymer/plastic handle feels better in the hand than it did straight out of the box. That may just be me getting used to it, but it doesn't feel quite as "cheap" as it did when I wrote the initial review. I am more pleased with it now and will continue to carry it daily for the time being. (adding one more star to my review - 4 stars total now).
