Silicone Battle Grid Mat - 24"x 36" Double-Sided Tabletop RPG Map - XL White Gaming Surface for D&D, Pathfinder - Foldable, Non-Slip, Dry/Wet Erase Dungeon Master Mat

Bought in 2023.. been used very regularly. I have other vinyl type game mats by Chessex and other makers and those have stained and faded with years of usage.. (good mats, then selves) BUT these silicone ones are frankly brilliant! They lay flat straight away once unrolled (I keep mine rolled up between games at the club) and you can also fold them to fit in a bag if you wish to, just don't fold them too tight or creases will remain, but a dunk in some warmish water should help those straighten out. You can use Dry and Wet Erase board marker type pens, BUT wet have oils in their inks and will (especially red!!) will leave marks that you will need to use some detergent or bathroom cleaner to remove. Using dry wipes are great, they clean off. One of the mats I use I left some WFRP RPG encounters on by accident for over 12 months and a dunk in some warm water and usage of baby wipes and soap cleaned them off without leaving a stain or shadow! (Unlike my Chessex). So in over 30 plus years of TTRPG gaming and using various mats, these are by far the best. So much so I made our club by a couple. You won't regret this purchase if you are playing TTRPGs for if you have something the kids can draw upon and clean that you can easily take on holiday etc as it folds up.. Tip - Get the kids of make up games or draw there own snakes and ladders and just clean it up after the holiday! :)

Such a great mat! The fact that this is made of silicone makes it really durable and it feels so high quality. Compared to other mats you can get, this one is only like £5 more than some really bad ones, and it’s so worth it. It’s a standard sized mat and it’s really easy to wipe down with a little water. Highly recommend!

A solid, good quality rubber mat, it has 1inch grid on one side, and a 1inch hex-grid on the other. You can wet and dry erase on this mat (would recommend more wet erasing more - easier to clean off) and even after having something drawn on for a few months it is easy to clean and wipe away. I have used mine now for over 2 years, and never needed anything else to draw on battle maps for ttrpg. (If you do dry/wet erase, keep it to a tissue or wipes anything with a rough edge may take the gridded lines off)

This has been great for our lockdown Pathfinder zoom games using a second camera on this to show a much larger area than before. It cleans off quickest with a damp cloth, but you also can use a pencil eraser. My only complaint is the material it is made of tends to pick up cat hair.

This is amazing, use it all the time and is really easy to clean! I think this is the best tool for a DM as you can alway have it on the table and just draw anything on it. Its great for prepping to as you can plan in advance and it doesn’t rub off so you can transport it with ease.

This works really well, easy to clean off and write on. The material feels great and lays flat very easily. It's a really good size too! Slight downside of you can see the lines drawn on the other side (I drew a smaller map on the hex grid side and my main map on the square grid and you could see some of the lines through the material) but in most cases this wouldn't be an issue.

Nice and durable mat. Came as expected and has a nice rubbery texture. Does not come with any sort of container which would be nice.

Expensive but you are getting what you pay for because this matt is excellent. Lightweight, non-slip and handles very well. great size for D&D as well

Huge fan of this gaming mat. It always lays perfectly flat, it's a good size, it's spill-proof if players want to be eating/drinking during a game, and a cheap pack of dry-erase markers make it easy to sketch out a map with as much or as little detail as I want. Also, I live in a small apartment with three pets and the hair doesn't stick to this mat, which is a huge bonus. It's a little pricey, but in the end much cheaper and easier than building fancy battle maps, and it's super versatile. Cleaning requires a little more elbow grease than I expected, even using isopropyl alcohol to get rid of the markers, but that's not enough of a downside for me to deduct a star. And once it is clean it looks brand new.

The map is extremely well made and well worth the cost. The material makes it very easy to roll out flat every time and doesn't seem to crease. Because of this, you can fold it up and it takes up so much less room than a standard vinyl mat. Plus, it's extremely good at both holding dry marker without smudging (even with gentle wiping if it gets dirty). So, you can pre-draw stuff and keep it there for a couple weeks before removing it. I'd highly recommend baby wipes as they instantly clear areas and because it's marginally harder to rub out using cloths/hands, though totally possible. Personally, I consider this a plus as it means that marks won't be accidentally smudged or wiped off. There are only two drawbacks I can find, the first being that the material is slightly transparent, so it's possible to see marks through the mat - makes it a little hard to hide predrawn stuff. This just means that you keep the map out of sight until you need it, or go for the standard black card overlay. Not really an issue. The second drawback is that the silicone picks up a mild static charge easily and can collect dirt/hair if used on an unclean surface - such as a bed. Thankfully, this isn't a problem as just gently wiping over it with a dry cloth will remove the dirt without disturbing the drawings and, if it's particularly dirty, I've found that giving it a very gentle rinse in the sink takes care of it. All-in-all, I'd never hesitate to recommend it over the standard vinyl offerings and will probably try to convert other DMs :)

This map is incredible. I had left dry erase markers of every colour (EVEN RED) for more than a month and a baby wipe with a little elbow grease took off the market. It is so fantastic and I recommend this to every dungeon Master. You can carry the mat with you and have minimal worries of the marker coming off. The size is so big I have been averaging about 6 maps on it. Three on each side The squares work really well for indoor dungeons and the hexes work really well for outdoor.

This map is great. First, the map always lies flat. Just roll it out, and it is usable. No curled corners. Secondly, it is the perfect size. It fits on a folding table with a little room on the edges. Lastly, every map in the DnD books fits on the surface. Cleaning the mat is easy. Follow the manufacturers directions, and use prewetted wipes. The wipes make it effortless to clean. Don't look any further. Buy this map.

This mat ticks all the boxes: it's effortlessly portable and doesn't crease easily, lays flat instantly, it's waterproof, easy to draw on, and only rubs off when you really mean it (but still comes off easily when you do). I cannot fault this mat in any way, highly recommend.
