Excellent product
Excellent product. Easy to use. I was making BNC ends on RG400 coax- adjust blades just a little and it makes assembly real easy.

Greenlee 1255 LC-CST Stripper for RG58/59/6/62AU: .315/.157 Coax Cable
Cable stripper prep tool works really good. I've done over 200 connectors this past year with it and its still as good as new.

Required ham tool
Worked great on the first four strips I did on a practice RG58 patch cable I made. better than I had been able to do with an xacto blade previously. Three stars due to the 30 day delivery.

Works well
Easy to use, cuts well. Just have to be careful clearing out cut leftover wire.

The best Coax Stripping tool
I really, really like the Paladin wire stripping tool. Anyone that makes coax knows the reputation of Paladin as a maker of fine cable making tools. I have the Paladin for LMR400 as well, and that too is amazing. To use it is so simple. Just hold the tool, look at the picture on the tool for your orientation as to which side to put it on the cable. Once you have put it on the cable, just turn it around a couple of times around the cable, then open it. It will cut off the excess coax, show the center conductor and expose the braiding, all in one go. You just need to pull back the braid, then crimp the connector, and you are done.I would not think of using any other tool to make RG58. I highly recommend it.

Greenlee PA1255 is junk
I'm kicking myself for wasting my money on this poorly designed coax stripper, the PA1255. To change pre-set blade strip lengths you have to remove a retaining pin then pull individual blades out and reinsert into new position. Next, you have to spend time and waste coax when adjusting the blades to meet the stripping requirements for each coax size. UUGHH! After an hour I threw it away and pulled out my very old stripper that has the orange jig fitting four sizes of coax. Push the jig out, rotate it to match your size of coax and orientate to an arrow printed on the stripper, then reinsert into stripper. Simple design but highly effective. The PA1255 is junk.

Meh. I do better without this tool
I purchased this tool because of the good reviews others had given it, but I find I can do the job just as well without it. As it came, the stripper was set for strips of a certain length, but I needed to change it. There is barely any room to get into the cutting area to remove the knives after pushing out the lock pin, and the tool is not set-able to prepare RG59 coax for twist on BNC connectors that I also bought from Amazon. Returned it. I have another Paladin cable stripping tool that is really high quality, but this tools is built to a much lower standard.

Once adjusted, takes the guesswork out of stripping coax
I used to strip coax using a small knife, razor, or other sharp blade I had in my toolbox. Half the time I nicked on or more parts of the line and had to do it again. This device has made stripping coax a super easy and repeatable task. It just took a little practice and a few adjustments to get the hang of it on RG58 coax. Now I get near perfect cuts every time.

Cuts well and the cuts are the right length for bnc connectors
This stripper is perfect for rg58 coax using crimp on conectors.
